Industrial Glam Master Bedroom Makeover Reveal
Happy Monday, beautiful friends! I am slightly…okay, ridiculously…excited to show you our industrial glam master bedroom makeover! We haven’t ever had a completely decorated bedroom before and let me tell you…we are happy, happy, happy about our room. I kind of feel like royalty when I wake up in the morning. This bedroom is mine! 🙂

Love it. Love it. LOVE IT!
This bedroom has always been the “front bedroom.” I helped Memaw paint it mint green many years ago. Before we moved in we painted it Shoji White from Sherwin Williams. I am addicted to that paint color because it goes with so many things. 🙂
I wanted the bedroom to have a little bit of glam, but I didn’t want it to be super girly. I found the ikat curtain panels at World Market and they were exactly what I had in mind. I love the colors and the pattern is just divine. We added a bamboo shade to the window. I can’t believe how well it blocks the light.
I also installed the crown molding and corner blocks to give the room a finished look. You can’t ever go wrong with trim!
The hardwood floors were stained at the same time we refinished one of the other bedrooms and the living room/dining room. That was a fun learning experience. 😉
I partnered with BHG Live Better & Walmart on part of this bedroom makeover. You can read 5 Ways to Refresh Your Bedroom for Summer. The industrial wall clock is BHG Live Better from Walmart. I love my collection of spools and gauges. They are perfect for Ernie’s chest.
I’ve had this dresser for many years. It’s a piece that has been passed along through my family. I inherited the beautiful gold mirror from Memaw. She told me many times through the years that she wanted me to have it when she went to heaven. It is such a treasure.
Also on my dresser…her old silver chest with family letters and notes, a mirrored tray to hold my jewelry, my old Koldaire fan that still works, a lamp and our engagement photo. 🙂
Color makes me so happy. And the chippy green chest is just perfection.
I’ve always wanted a chandelier in my bedroom and I’ve finally gotten my wish. This beauty came from Home Depot.
Decorating with flowers is a simple touch, but it gives a great impact with texture, color and LIFE. The unusual vase is part of the old light fixture from Granddaddy’s bathroom that we renovated back in January. If you haven’t seen it yet, you must.
This thrifted bench provides a perfect sitting spot in the bedroom. I added two pillows for extra cushion and color. The funky flame stitch makes me smile.
The oil painting was my Granny’s {my Mom’s mom}. I haven’t had a place to hang it for a while, but it is perfect in our bedroom. The colors and the style are spot on. And the sentimental value is huge. I love when my home decor means something to my heart.
The bedding is from Walmart, as are the two colorful pillows on the bed. I found the His & Hers pillow at TJMaxx. Both Ernie and I are in love with the bedding. It’s very comfortable…not too hot or heavy!
Closeup fan beauty.
Pillows make everything so comfortable!
Pretty. The ruched bedding is so elegant.
Okay, so you’re probably wondering why in the world there is a track with doors as the headboard. I know it’s a little weird and funky. But we solved a problem in an awesome way. For real.
Here is a bedroom before photo, so you can get a general idea of what we were working with. Having a window over the bed presents some issues, so on a trip to Southern Accents Architectural Antiques I brainstormed a solution with Lucy. She’s so smart!
The two doors are architectural salvage pieces that Southern Accents stripped and reconfigured the muntons and mullions {the trim around the pane of glass area}. I stained the doors and then upholstered pieces of foam board with the same fabric as my World Market curtain panels as well as a contrasting fabric.
I’m going to do another post about the installation of the sliding doors, but they pretty much rock the house…or at least the bedroom!
My beautiful brass lamps are from Walmart…BHG Live Better line. They make me happy. The shades are fun!
Aren’t the doors the coolest thing in the world?! We totally think they are!
This little giraffe from World Market kind of started it all. I wanted the bedroom to have a fun, funky, global, industrial-ish feel. 🙂
Well, there ya have it – our new Industrial-Glam Master Bedroom makeover! I know some of you have been on pins and needles for this post to go live. I hope you have greatly enjoyed the tour! 🙂
Oh, and here’s another before & after just to see the dramatic change! 🙂

Those doors are FABULOUS! They are my absolute favorite part of your room and they make me want to move to a spot under a window, so I can do the same! They also make me want to do a Cullman run to visit SAAA!
What a beautiful bedroom! You did a great job, as always!

Love the track doors!! They are a solution to many problems. Who knew?? My nephew has a very small house near downtown Savannah and they used the track doors as a way to shut off a tiny room that had no doors. So great that your track doors let in light as needed then close for the night. Clever!!

Myra,
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your master bedroom!! Wow! All of the elements are wonderful, but I especially love the curtains and all of the fun pillows. And my absolute favorite are the doors that serve as your headboard!!! They are beautiful! They look great both open & closed. You did a fabulous job! Thanks for sharing – and thanks for the inspiration!
Blessings,
Lanita
I love it! We did the same thing. Only I live in a barn, so I could just open my track doors and window and feed my my horse as I kept a bucket of hay by my bed. Yeehaw gorgeous room!!
Having a sliding door to cover the window and as headboard is a genius idea. wow…
Well you’re right! Those doors rock the room!
But I love your lamps too! My favorite part of the tour is reading you feel like royalty when you wake in the A.M. What a wonderful feeling to wake up to!

Your makeover came out Beautiful I love the doors, bedding, and golden fan! I wish I could do something like that. You always do such beautiful work. Thanks for sharing being disabled I only see through pictures and magazines. You sure have a bedroom from a showroom magazine!
I love how you incorporated all the family treasures. Fabulous doors.
Love your headboard design, amazing!! Beautiful room, but I’m not a fan of all the different patterns and colors. I love your pillows and lampshades, but the curtains and headboard fabric is too busy, it distracts from the overall beauty and architectural design of your amazing headboard. I would have gone with one color (probably white, and a used a soft flowing fablic) or one pattern and made it look less eclectic, less is more for me. You are extremely talented and creative, so I hope you don’t take my comments wrong, its just a personal preference, it’s ofcoarse what makes you happy!
Sorry, I don’t get this room. It is ugly.
Love, love , love the doors!!! Awesome!!
Sorry really don’t like this room! Looks like a bad 60s experience! At first, I thought it was a joke!
Sorry
Wow! What a transformation. Your bedroom is really unique. The crown molding looks great! The sliding doors are my favorite feature.
