Baked Oatmeal Recipe
Happy Tuesday! Today, I’m sharing one of our favorite breakfast recipes – baked oatmeal! My baked oatmeal is a great make-ahead meal as well for serving to house guests. It is always a hit, so I know you’re family will probably love it as well!
Baked Oatmeal Recipe
- 6 cups oats
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 T. cinnamon
- 1 cup raw sugar
- 1 cup cinnamon applesauce
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup dried fruit {craisins, raisins or whatever you choose}
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
Combine oats, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Add eggs and applesauce and stir well. Pour in milk and stir until combined. Fold in dried fruit and nuts.
Pour into greased 9×13-inch pan. Bake at 375° for 30-40 minutes until lightly browned. This recipe works beautifully when prepared the night before, refrigerated and baked in the morning.
Serve topped with butter or coconut oil, brown sugar or honey and milk.
Yields: Approximately 10-12 servings
What is your family’s favorite breakfast food?

I’ve been making a recipe quite similar to this for many years. A friend gave it to me after staying at an Amish B&B where it was served. We always have it with creamy vanilla yogurt and fresh fruit. Your recipe is a tad different from mine and I can’t wait to try your version.
We got our recipe from the Bible camp my husband preached at in the early 90’s. We were always amazed that the same teenagers who would snub oatmeal, devoured baked oatmeal. They served it with warm homemade, applesauce on the top.
Your recipe is healthier than mine, I can hardly wait to try it, too!
Does it matter which kind of oats you use? (old fashioned or quick-cooking) Got to try that!
this sounds super yummy! I bet my boys would love it:)
Oh, I love baked oatmeal!
I love this recipe. I like that it has applesauce and that it doesn’t require wheat germ or something that I don’t normally have in the house. Think I’ll make it with chocolate chips :).

I saw this posted and it looked so good I couldn’t wait to try it! I actually had my hubby pick up my missing ingredients on his way home from work last night and whipped it up for this morning. It is definitely as delicious as it looks in your picture! Thanks so much for sharing!
It looks simple, festive..works for me!
I’ll be trying this soon!

We love baked oatmeal. I’m pretty sure we’ve tried it with fresh cranberries too, coarsely chopped. I love to use them in everything this time of year!

I don’t eat eggs. Can you please suggest if this can be made without eggs or any other egg substitute I can use? The recipe looks very tempting 🙂
