5 Simple Tips to Set A Fall Table
*This post brought to you by Better Homes and Gardens Products at Walmart.
Hello, hello lovely people! I am so happy to show you the fun Fall table that I set this year. I meant to publish this post last week, but our new baby decided to make her {yes, HER!!} arrival a bit earlier than anticipated! 🙂 We are absolutely in love! More to come on that later!
I love setting a pretty table. Although it’s not super practical with little people, having a seasonal tablescape for special occasions is fun! Believe it or not, most of the items on the table this year are from Walmart! I shopped in the store, but I did find a few things online that I linked to below.

I used some of the same cotton that I got for the mantel this year as a centerpiece for the dining room table. I really love that it doesn’t die {haha!} and it looks great indefinitely. I added some crab apple stems in there too.
Here are my 5 Simple Tips to Set A Fall Table…
1. Set the foundation.
Of course I start with a fabulous tablecloth. I adore this Better Homes and Gardens gold flecked ivory tablecloth. I also spotted the hand painted leaf table runner, so it also came home with me for this year’s Fall table. The burnt orange napkins and napkin rings are the same ones I used last year. 🙂
2. Layer, layer, layer.
If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I’m a hard-core layer-er. It’s a must for making things interesting. How many layers can you spot in the photo below?
3. Mix textures and shapes.
The juxtaposition of many different textures is so pleasing to the eye. I really think I hear angels singing in my head when it’s just the right textural balance. The circular rustic woven chargers topped with the square gold smooth charger are fabulous together. I love how the white plate adds a bit of quiet between the glam of the charger and the awesome leaf shaped salad plate. Seriously, don’t you want to eat salad off that plate or what?! Fancy schmancy!
4. Incorporate vintage items.
This year {just like last year} I set Memaw’s amber glasses on the table. We use them regularly and I love that they have a vintage, happy vibe. The amber salad plate and the amber glasses jive well together.
5. Add conversation pieces.
I was smitten by these adorable fox salt and pepper shakers. Aren’t they cute?
And this pumpkin soup tureen. It’s so beautiful! It is useful for serving more than just soup too. Think pumpkin cookies, rolls, muffins or breadsticks. The possibilities are endless.
That’s a wrap on our Fall tablescape this year! I’m thrilled that the centerpiece will last well through Thanksgiving! 🙂 I hope the simple tips above will help you as you decorate for the Fall and Thanksgiving season!
