Easy Crockpot Applesauce Recipe
Well, hello there, beautiful friend! 🙂 I hope you are having a smashing good week! I’ve been in a fall food mood as of late. I hope you aren’t getting too tired of Fall recipes yet! I noticed that my “apple collection” was beginning to overflow {as it usually does this time of year}, so I decided to make crockpot applesauce. My mom and sister have been making applesauce in the crockpot for years, but I’ve never tried it until this past week. Y’all. I am officially hooked.

I made up this recipe and just added a combination of my favorite Fall spices. Who knew that homemade applesauce could be so delicious with no added sugar?! WOW! I took this to my parents’ for Sunday dinner dessert and it was devoured…even by the skeptics. Ha!
Easy Crockpot Applesauce
- 30-ish apples {I used a mix of mostly golden delicious, a few fuji, macintosh and two granny smith}
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoons ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- dash allspice
- dash salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Peel, quarter and core apples. Add to large crockpot with water and lemon juice. Add all remaining ingredients over apples. Cook for 8 hours on low. Stir and leave chunky.
Serve warm or chilled – your preference. It is delightful either way.
Enjoy!
Do you make homemade crockpot applesauce too?
xoxo

I’m in I love apple pie or apples anything 😀
Can this be water canned?
I haven’t tried that before, so I’m not sure.
Can I make this with only 8 or 10 apples? If so how does that affect the other ingredients and cooking time? thanks!
You definitely could! Just cut everything in thirds…and wing it on the spices! 🙂 The cooking time should be a bit shorter as well.
Looks so delish! Love FALL. Must tey!!!
Sounds delicious!
