Our Crazy Weekend {In Photos}
This past weekend was absolute insanity. For this pregnant momma, I’m glad it’s over, but we had SO much fun and made many memories along the way.
Friday morning began with a collaborative yard sale. After we packed up the sale, I hurried home to get my family ready to drive two hours to watch my nephews play baseball. After the game {they won!}, we drove the two hours home and collapsed into bed.
Saturday morning began bright and early with yard sale set up. Over the course of two yard sale days, we made almost $1200! It exceeded our greatest expectations!!!
Saturday evening, my sister and I took the kids {3, 2, 1 and 2 months} to our local hot air balloon festival. It was HOT, but we had a good time and the kids did really well. We watched a bunch of balloons get inflated and had pizza for supper.
This is one of Ridley and Lily’s sweet moments. This gives us hope that someday we won’t have to watch them like hawks in case one of them goes ballistic and tries to maim the other. Haha!
On Sunday night, we hung out at my parents’ and had supper after church. Lily, Joshua {my 13yo brother} and Ridley thought that it was cute to play with Mr. Potato Head parts. Don’t worry, we watched them carefully to make sure that they didn’t hurt themselves.
We got up on Monday morning and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with my mother-in-law. It was nice not to have to cook. When we got home, I found these beautiful tomatoes on my thriving tomato plants in the backyard. They are SO yummy!
After a productive day around the house…especially cleaning out Ridley’s room, we went to my Memaw’s for Memorial Day dinner. There was a huge spread, as usual. My brother made the delicious Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream that I shared yesterday. Don’t miss that recipe!
After supper, the kids played in the kiddie pool and water bug sprinkler. They were more interested in watering the trees and dumping water on each other than anything else. Ha!
We finished the day by enjoying a delicious watermelon. There’s nothing more summery than enjoying fresh watermelon at dusk when the fireflies are lighting all around.
The crazy weekend was very, very good.
Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend?

Wow, what busy weekend! Maybe one year I will make it to see the hot air balloons. We had a great weekend too with my hubby’s first crawfish boil!
Ohhhh, Kerry! A crawfish boil. That sounds fun. Did you eat any?
What a weekend full of good memories! We have so much to be thankful for–and the freedom won by the sacrifice of others to be able to enjoy it! All your pictures are fabulous–the brilliant hot air balloon is outstanding! 🙂
Thanks Mom! It was indeed a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for sharing all these great pictures. It looks like you had a busy but fun weekend.

Sounds like a GREAT yard sale! Wow! I had three boxes of kid clothes and threw them into my mom’s friend’s garage sale and made $130 which was way more than I expected!
I worked most of the holiday weekend – ah, retail 😉 I was pleased with my weekend that was just very laid back and relaxed. We did some stuff but were never rushed like we usually are. It was nice to spend some time at home with my family too. He had a three day weekend so we had an extra night together (we work opposite shifts.)
I always enjoy Memorial Day weekend for so many reasons but one is that it is the “unofficial” start to summer. Summer and I have a love/hate relationship – love the outdoors time but hate the heat 🙂

we went to our hot air balloon festival on monday, but they didn’t let the balloons go up at all and they weren’t even inflated. 🙁 we were disappointed. we’ll have to try again next year. 🙂
