My Favorite Way To Drink Water

I have a confession. I’m a little bit of a snob when it comes to what I drink.

I don’t drink coffee. {Gasp! I know.}

I do enjoy the occasional unsweet iced tea. But it’s not my first choice.

I drink water. It is my favorite.

I know a lot of people don’t like water. I can’t really fathom it, but I’m going to tell you my favorite way to drink water. It is not boring and it IS flavorful.

This probably won’t surprise you, but I thoroughly enjoy adding Young Living’s Vitality essential oils to my water. Yum! It is very important that you use therapeutic grade essential oils that are safe for internal consumption.

Citrus oils {Lemon Vitality, Lime Vitality, Orange Vitality, Tangerine Vitality, Grapefruit Vitality and Citrus Fresh Vitality} are my go-to for “spiking” my water.  I also love Peppermint Vitality in my water. It’s so refreshing!

Spike Water Every Day

1. Citrus oils from Young Living are cold pressed from the rinds.

This means that you don’t have to worry about hurting the enamel on your teeth from drinking water with Vitality citrus oils in it.

2. Citrus oils can erode certain materials.

If you put a drop of Young Living Lemon Vitality oil on a styrofoam cup it will immediately begin eroding the cup’s material and in a few minutes there will be a hole. I’m not kidding. Some of you are probably thinking, “Oh my word! Is that what it’s doing to my insides!?” Ha! No. Not at all. :-)

3. Citrus oils are great for supporting your wellness!

I drink Vitality citrus oils for the good flavor in my water and for their ability to support my daily wellness.

4. Citrus oils are very inexpensive! :)

I only add 1-2 drops per 16 ounces of water and all of Young Living’s Vitality citrus oils are less than $0.06 per drop! I love that they are very cost effective!

5. Always use glass!

Drinking Vitality citrus oils requires a glass tumbler or glass water bottle. You can also use stainless steel straws. Because of #2 above, glass and stainless steel are the way to go.

Drinking Vitality citrus oils is a great thing to add to your daily wellness regimen. There are many other uses and properties these oils have. They are awesome!

I am drinking peppermint tea and dreaming about a giant cup of coffee as i read this. Lol. I loved citrus flavored water. What about those hard bpa free straws like the mason bar company uses. Will it eat through those too?

I am a nurse on my feet all day. I get a lot of swelling in my legs. What would you suggest to help with that?

So I use an actual lemon every morning for detoxing. Can I just replace my lemon with lemon essential oil?

  4. Donna Doan says

Hi Myra, a few people commented on one of my pins on Pinterest and said do not ingest any oils as they can be harmful. How do we know these are safe and will not harm our insides of or body parts?

  5. Myra Hope says

Hi Leigh! I would be very cautious about health food store citrus oil. They are likely adulterated. If the label says “for aromatic use” or “not for internal use” or something like that I would definitely not use them in water. :)
