Singin’ In The Rain

by Myra Hope

The last two days, we’ve enjoyed rain after many long, dry weeks. Crops have burned up and grass beneath our feet crunches like straw. The drought has been bad…as I know it’s really bad all across our country. Ridley begged to play out in the rain and since it was just rain {no thunder or lightening} I let him play with his boots and umbrella.

This little man just makes me smile, so I thought you might enjoy seeing him puddle-ducking around in the water. :)

I’m singing in the rain, Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin’, I’m happy again

I’m laughing at clouds, So dark up above
The sun’s in my heart, And I’m ready for love

Let the stormy clouds chase, Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I’ve a smile on my face

I walk down the lane, With a happy refrain
Just singin’, Singin’ in the rain

How fun!  Do you ever let your kids play outside in rain puddles?

XO

Ridley is just too cute :-) )
I loved to play in the rain when I was a kid, my daddy told me how much he loved that when he was a kid and my daughter did, too, sounds to be genetic, no?
However, it makes me think of those countries who don’t see rain for years sometimes, for those people for whom rain means life… and it makes me sad…

Kids? Shoot, *I* love to play in the rain! I used to drag my hubby outside in the heavy warm Florida rains all the time when we were first married. :) (Adorable pictures!!)

I guess you know that it’s the 60th anniversary of the movie Singin’ in the Rain, and today, I believe, it is being shown in select theaters across the country. Good timing!

Seeing how much fun he’s having makes me want to throw on my boots and grab my umbrella!! So thankful for the rain. I think you guys have actually gotten a bit more than us. It seems like several times over the past few weeks, it’s gotten to the county line and turned around. Today, we’re getting a nice, slow, drenching, cool rain. I love it!

We always go for walks to play in the puddles after a good rain. My girls love to put their swim suits on and play outside when it is raining.

It rained where we are at yesterday too and I let the older kids go out and drench themselves in it. They came in all smiles. :o )
