Rice Krispie Hearts {Valentine’s Day Treat}
With all the Valentine’s Day crafting that I’ve been doing, I thought it all needed to be balanced out with some great Valentine’s Day treats. Chocolate anyone? I also wanted to make something that would be fun to share with our new neighbors. So I came up with a super easy and beautiful V-day treat!
Rice Krispie Hearts
Ingredients:
- 13×9 pan of Rice Krispie treat mixture {rice krispies, marshmallows, butter and vanilla}
- Semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- Sprinkles
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
I cut out 9 hearts from the firmly packed rice krispie treat mixture. Aren’t they pretty? 🙂
I melted the chocolate morsels in the microwave and then I dipped each heart “krispie” into the chocolate. I smoothed out the bumps with a spatula.
I added some cute Valentine’s sprinkles to finish them!
With the pieces left over from where I cut out heart shapes, I cut them up and dipped ’em. You can’t have too much chocolate dipped rice krispie treats right? Ha!
To help harden the chocolate, I put the hearts in the freezer and then I bagged them up to gift to our neighbors. Fabulous!! I’ll definitely be making these Valentine’s Day treats again!
Do you have a go-to Valentine’s Day treat that you like to give?

@Phoebe @ GettingFreedom,
Do you use marshmallow creme? I can never get my RKT to work right with it, best to use a bag of marshmallows! 🙂

@Need A Nap2, No, I’ve always used just regular ol’ marshmallows. Not exactly for sure what my issue is. 🙂

We made these in our youth group, but we used heart shaped silicon trays to make the heart shapes. I think these would look adorable on a stick too, lol. Not practical, but adorable. 🙂

If you aren’t able to make the rice krispy treats, I noticed at christmas time there were sheets being sold in Walmart that you could cut and decorate yourself, I haven’t seen them since Christmas, I would think this would be a hit.
OMG, those are the most delicious and adorable crispy treats I’ve ever seen. I’m definitely going to try this out. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
