One of my goals for 2010 is to have more structured activity times for Ridley. He is learning so fast and I want to take advantage of every minute! Ridley is a very fast learner. He knows what things are off limits and usually when I speak to him, he will just turn around and go the other way.
Currently, we’re working on colors and shapes with Mega blocks and wooden shape blocks. I also show him flashcards of the ABCs and 123s; and we’re going over basic body parts: eyes, nose, toes, ears etc. He’s getting a little bit better about reading time. He doesn’t like to sit in my lap for any length of time, but I’m trying to train him to sit still for a short book!
In this video, you will see how Ridley can wave and do pat-a-cake and peek-a-boo. He is such a sweet baby!
Note: The dirty spot on his face is a “shiner” that he got while playing at my Memaw’s. Her coffee table (aka, large wooden chest) jumped up and knocked him in the face. My little guy has entered a tumbling stage!
I love watching Ridley learn. It is such a wonderful experience! I will keep you posted on his “continuing education!” Ha!

Poor fella! Caedmon fell and hit our coffee table every week! It was pitiful! It’s sad when you have to explain the new bruise at church every week.

This is great. Clayton and I count everything to 3 right now. We also do colors, shapes, ABC’s, body parts, words, and anything else we can think of. It’s so much fun to watch them learn. God’s amazing creations.

How cute! I love watching videos like that. Scout loves “Where’s Scout” or “Where’s mama?” and he likes to point to the clock and say ‘da’. Isn’t all the learning fun

Very cute! They’re so fun at that age.
And the sitting still for reading comes with time…then he’ll probably be asking for it! Hope to get to meet you sometime soon!
