Flower Love & Spring Planting
Happy Monday, beautiful people! With most cool weather past and my brother’s wedding rehearsal dinner on the horizon {ack!}, I’m in full-fledged gardening and outdoor-sprucing-up mode. I bought some annuals {marigolds, salvia, verbena, dusty miller, polka-dot plant} for the front flower ring, a few hanging baskets of flowers and my mother-in-law and I went to a Master Gardening plant sale on Saturday!
I have plans for cleaning up and refreshing the somewhat neglected outdoor spaces that Memaw was so proud of. Memaw was the flower whisperer. I loved helping her plant, weed and water her flowers.
{my gardening sale stash!}
I’ve been on the hunt for hardy begonias or perennial begonias for a few weeks. I didn’t know what what the plants were called until this weekend when an extensive google image search turned up a photo I recognized! I looked at big box stores and I’ve called local plant nurseries with no luck.

Aren’t they beautiful!?! Memaw grew hardy begonias in enormous amounts. They filled up her two front flower planters along with beautiful hydrangeas. And they came back year after year.

On Saturday night, I found a seller on Ebay hardy begoniaseeds. I almost squealed, but the boys were sleeping, so I didn’t. Ha! I am SO excited about planting the seeds when they arrive. 🙂
I love the peaceful, cool mornings. The birds chirping and the sunshine streaming through the dancing new leaves on the trees soothes my soul. So this morning I’m planting like a crazy person.
Hopefully my black thumb is turning brownish-green. My dirt covered fingers are crossed. As long as I keep everything watered it should be good. 🙂
Do you enjoy gardening? What is your favorite plant to grow?
xoxo

I’m not a gardener, but my hubby and daughter are. They keep my 4 rose bushes looking beautiful. We used to have begonias at our old house which were awesome. They are very low maintenance and grow easily here in the south. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors!!
I’m a gardener because i love plants.
