Peach Cobbler
This past weekend, my sweet husband bought a basket of local peaches at the farmers’ market. They smelled so delicious when he brought them in the door. We were planning to have company for Sunday dinner, so I knew I had to make a peach cobbler.
My favorite dessert in the summertime is cobbler. I don’t care if it’s peach cobbler, strawberry cobbler, blackberry or blueberry cobbler. Whatever kind of cobbler…bring it on!
This, my friends, is just a little bit of heaven in a bowl. Peach Cobbler is a classic dessert and it’s not complicated at all. My Peach Cobbler recipe is quick and easy to get in the oven.
Peach Cobbler
- 4 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 3/4 cup butter {1 1/2 sticks}
- 2 cups sugar {I prefer turbinado sugar, but white sugar is fine too.}
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Real Salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk {I occasionally use coconut milk.}
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Melt butter in a 13×9 baking dish as the oven preheats.
Mix 1 1/4 cups sugar with 1/2 cup flour. Add peaches and toss. Let it sit so the sugar dissolves.
In a separate bowl, mix remaining 1 1/2 cups flour and 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Add milk and whisk until smooth.
Remove dish with melted butter from oven. Pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon peach mixture on top of batter. Again, do not stir.
Bake for one hour until cobbler is golden brown and bubbly.
Serve warm. If you’re in an extra special mood, serve with ice cream.
Enjoy!
I wish I could have each of you over for some Peach Cobbler right now! We would have it with some delicious vanilla bean ice cream. 🙂
Do YOU like cobblers?? What’s your favorite Summer dessert?

We love cobblers is our home. Our favorite though is blueberry. When we lived in NC, we would go pick fresh blueberries from a place on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nothing better than fresh wild blueberries in a cobbler! 🙂

I love cobbler!! Peach is my favorite. My husband is currently trying to go gluten free… is there another type of flour you could recommend?? Almond flour- maybe? Thanks for the post!

I actually use organic white spelt for all my baking. It’s not gluten free, but it has a very low gluten index and is tolerated easier. 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
