Bacon Chicken {With Cream Cheese Filling}
Hey, hey! This past weekend, I created a wonderfully easy and delicious baked chicken recipe…and it’s combined with bacon and cream cheese. What could be better?! I took my Bacon Chicken to a church potluck and every piece was devoured. Yum!
Bacon Chicken {With Cream Cheese Filling}
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 6 slices of bacon, cut in half
- 2 – 8 oz pkgs. cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 5-6 green onions, chopped
- 2-3 tablespoons butter
Carefully cut each chicken breast in half {to make them very thin}. Then, place breast pieces between pieces of plastic wrap and flatten well with a mallet.
Whip cream cheese in a bowl. Add garlic powder, salt and onions and mix.
Spread approximately 1 Tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on each chicken breast. Roll up and wrap with a half slice of bacon. Place in a lightly sprayed baking dish – seam side down. Continue this process until all chicken breasts are finished. Spread softened butter over chicken breasts.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until chicken breasts are done. Then broil for 5-7 minutes to crisp the bacon on top.
Yield: 12 servings
Enjoy!
Note: I made this recipe the night before and kept it in the refrigerator until the next morning when I pulled it out to bake. It worked really well!
What is your favorite way to bake chicken?

Thank you Bethany! 🙂
Looks scrumptious!!! By the way…I am curious…when you make something like this at your house, how many of those ingredients do you buy organic and/or hormone free, pastured/grassfed, etc. Chicken breasts? Bacon? What about cream cheese and butter? I hate to be so nosy, but I am on the road to cleaning up our eating a step at a time and am just curious what you do! 🙂
Thanks, Bethany! Okay, for this recipe, I used organic chicken breasts, nitrite free bacon, organic garlic powder, regular cream cheese and green onions, real salt and organic butter. One thing to note…cheap spices have been irradiated to destroy any bacteria, microorganisms and viruses {eww}, so I only buy organic.
I had no idea about spices! Where do you normally buy them from? Or ways you save money buying organic spices because regular ones are quite pricy as it is.

In the ingredients you call for 2-3 tablespoons butter, but no where in the directions do say where to use it. I wouldn’t think you would mix it in with the cream cheese. Where do you use it? Or am I just missing something? What is the butter for?
Oops! I updated the recipe to include it. Spread the softened butter over the chicken breasts before baking. 🙂
