Vintage Yard Sale Finds
Hey, hey! I hope y’all are having a good week! I’m super excited to share a few of the treasures that I found on Saturday. My sister and I went yard sale-ing together and we had the best time! She found a Little Tikes car and an easel for her kiddos and I found some things for my house…of course!
The very last sale we stopped at had this vintage letterpress drawer. I’ve been hunting for one of these for the longest time! It was $10 which is a steal in comparison to some I found on Ebay. I will be hanging this baby on the wall and I’ll be sure to show you when I do. 🙂
The bright, vibrant colors of this vintage orange carafe totally caught my eye. For only 0.25, it will be perfect for keeping a wonderful cool drink in the refrigerator!
I have to admit that when I spotted an old aluminum measuring cup, my heart skipped a beat…or two. It reminds me of cooking with my Memaw. Can’t you envision this adorable measuring cup filled with flowers? So cute!
I’m a sucker for old linens. Especially when they are cute and cheap. Four cloth napkins for a dollar is speakin’ my language, so they came home with me! 🙂
I’m working on a measuring stick/yard stick collection because I’m going to make something uber cool when I gather enough. I’ve just gotta tell you this story. There’s a guy in our town who always beats me to every. single. estate sale. Seriously. He brings a trailer and friends to help him swoop in and grab all the cool stuff.
Today, I saw him and his pile at an estate sale…and these yard sticks were in his box. Blah. What a stinker! After going through the entire house at least twice, I saw the yard sticks out of his box and stuck behind a door. I looked at my sis and said, “I’m not leaving here, until someone goes home with the yard sticks.” Ha!
So, one of the people running the sale, pulled the yard sticks out from behind the door and asked the stinker dude if he still wanted them. Almost before the word “no” came out of his mouth, I grabbed them up as quick as lightening. It was so funny and cracked my sister up. She’s the best at humoring my crazy antics.
I also got a bamboo table that I’m going to makeover {I’ll show you soon!} for 7.50. We’ve been needing a table for our front porch and this one is perfect! 🙂
That’s a wrap, y’all!
Did you go yard sale-ing this past holiday weekend?
I’m linking up to Rhoda’s Thrifty Treasures party!

I’m a sucker for vintage finds. The yard sticks are great, so many ideas for those. Can’t wait to see the bamboo table, too!
I am jealous! I love that drawer! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. My Mom had a carafe like that when we were kids…funny the things you remember. The yard sticks are really neat too I have seen lots of cool projects using them lately. Congratulations on your great finds!
Great finds, Myra!! Yes, I went garage sale-ing last Saturday and spent a BIG $3.50 and now have 3 projects (love it!). This Saturday there is a big garage sale in town and I’ve got to get there early…to beat “the regulars” (like the guy who beats you to the estate sales)!!
Post pictures soon of your “new” table – can’t wait to see it!
Hugs,
Heather
Love the drawer! My mother has one – she’s had it hung on the wall for as long as I can remember. She uses it to display her thimble and spoon collection. Can’t wait to see yours up.
You always have such good luck! I have to admit that I see those letterpress drawer, or things that look like them, at a lot of sales. I always feel like I should buy them, but I can never decide what I’m going to do with it? I don’t really have really small knick knack type things to put in it. I’m anxious to see what you do with yours! Thanks for sharing your treasures!

The yard sticks bring back memories. lol That was what my gram threatened us with. “don’t make me get my yard stick!” It hung on a hook in the living room behind a cupboard. Only ever seen her use it on my cousin Bert… man he could be a handful. I never actually thought she’d use it. I think he was like 13! lol
Haha I totally pictured that scenario and laughed out loud at work. So funny! Just the giggle I needed this morning. P.S.- Amazing finds! I l-o-v-e that orange carafe. Great job! 🙂
I have a strawberry flask just like that! I love mine. Perfect for oj and juices. Such a classic find if you ask me

Oh my goodness!!! I am so jealous of your orange carafe! We had that when I was a kid, what a great memory!
I really like that orange carafe–it’s so cute! I really love yard sales too! You never know what kind of treasure you’ll bump into. Too bad no one in my neighborhood now does them. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with that drawer!

I’ve had a printers drawer for over 25 years – my husband worked for an old printing company and they gave them away! You always find the greatest treasures at the yard sales!
You got a great deal on the vintage drawer. I purchased one not too long ago for about $30. I love it I must say, I use it to sort my jewelry, and it’s perfect!
Oh my goodness…my heart goes pitter patter when I go to thrift stores and yard sales. I love finding vintage treasures, too.
I love old linens and love old glassware. Your pitcher is awesome! I’m excited to see what you do with your printer drawer…it’s so fun to repurpose things, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing!!

Adorable finds!
My best findthsi past weekend was an old rocking chair that was rather dog chewed on the rocking legs. So she sold it to me for $3! A little elbow grease, some sanding – ok, a LOT of sanding, some paint, some stain and some more detail sanding and it is gorgeous. It will join my other tag and garage sale finds that have been refinished in my daughter’s college apartment, doneover in shabby chinc. Can’t wait for this weeked to be out on the hunt again!
You got some great finds! For some reason, when the weekends come around and all the sales are going on, I don’t have any money. at all. But when I do have some extra money for sales, there aren’t a nary one. Nope. Nada. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the yard sticks and the type drawer.
Love the printer tray … we have one that Scott’s great-grandparents had in their house … all the original contents are still in it. Her thimbles, his old aspirin tins, etc. It’s one of my favorite things in our house.
