Vintage Kitchen Stool
On Saturday, I went yard sale-ing with Ridley and then met up with friends along the way. We had so much fun together! I snagged just a few little treasures.
For only $1.25, I picked up a white vase which is perfect to add to my little “white” collection and I’m a total sucker for vintage tablecloths.
I also found a LiteBright and Fishing Set for Ridley for $5.00!
My favorite find from the day was this vintage kitchen stool. I got it for a DOLLAR…yes, one whole dollar.
I know it’s hideous now, but when I get done with it, this baby will be beautiful and perfect for our kitchen makeover that is in {albeit slow} progress.
I’m going to sand the rust off. Probably with steel wool? {Any suggestions on that?} Then I’ll spray paint the frame and recover the seat and back. I haven’t decided exactly what color I’ll use to recover, but I’m completely in love with this red stool…
{swoon}
Did y’all hit up any yard sales this holiday weekend? Happy Memorial Day!

What wonderful finds! I love milkglass vases and the stool is going to look awesome. The red would be my pick.
Great find, Myra! Love those vintage stools, it is going to look great. I am still in love with those white ceramic stools you did. If I ever run across one cheap like that, I’m getting it!
The stool is an amazing find for $1.00. Wow! I sort of like the red one also.
Can’t wait to see your makeover. We have a stool almost exactly the same from DH’s grandparents and would love to make it look cute again.
Really great finds! The kitchen stool has so much potential. Love it!
We had one of these in yellow! Used to be my mom’s “on the phone” chair…aaah…great memories. Thanks!
this stool is great, looking forward to see it madeover!
‘vintage’ stool – love it! We had one when I was growing up. . . does that make me vintage?!? Ha – I feel like it most mornings 😀 Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Those stools truly are awesome, though. So handy.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
I suggest to clean rust with steel wool and WD40. Then, wash it with dishwasher before painting, because WD40 is oily.
I love that stool! Can’t believe you found it for a dollar. So jealous
Loving that stool and the price was a steal! I love the red too!
Love me some milk glass. I am usually lucky to find mine at the Good Will. Didn’t hit any sales this weekend and it was killing me. I plan on next weekend!

I’m in love with that stool… amazing find Myra!
I used to sit on a stool exactly like that in my mom’s kitchen when I talked on the phone…that was when I was a teenager in the 60’s and our only phone was on the kitchen wall!!! Brings back some memories – perhaps that’s the one I sat upon.
Love your Stool I just finished one almost just like it was red
