High On Primer

I just had to give you a really quick update! We are in the throes of moving – inspections, meetings, getting utilities changed, packing, organizing and throwing away. You get the picture. Remind us when we say we want to move again that we really don’t, umkay?

Moving four times in five years is enough. Really.

I decided that since I needed to prime a bunch of stained trim, kitchen cabinets and the board and batten with Zinsser primer {read: oil-based smelly stuff} that I’d better get it done before we move. I don’t want Ridley to smell the stuff.

My brother has helped me with sanding and I’ve been priming for two days…like for HOURS…which is why I titled this post “High On Primer.”  Ahem.

What used to look like this…

Now looks like this…

Progress, folks!

Today I’m working on priming door trim, window trim and baseboards.  I can’t wait to get the real painting done!  The kitchen “feels” so much bigger since the knotty pine is gone. 🙂

And here’s a sneak peek at the primed board and batten…

Okay, I’ve gotta get my booty back to priming and packing!

  3. Way to go girl! It’s looking great, and the lighter colors give it such a southern cottage kind of feel. Loving it! 🙂

  4. Wow, the cabinets looks great! I have to admit, I thought the cabinets looked pretty cool before and was kind of bummed that you were going to paint them (That that I have any reason to feel that way since it’s not my house…lol) but they are looking SO good!

  5. WOW! Everything looks so good. I noticed you decided to paint out the window trim too….YAYYYY! I can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!

  6. I love the changes you’ve made, Myra. The wood trim is delightful, and your spare, neutral palette is perfect!
