All Moved In!!
I’m borrowing my brother’s MacBook Pro {swoon} and my sister’s internet to post a little update. We are all moved.
Truly, it is amazing!
On Thursday, I hadn’t even started packing and Thursday night my friends Dedra, Aubrey and Ashleigh came over to help me get started. We had ice cream, brownies and all kinds of other deliciousness while I pulled stuff out and they wrapped and boxed things up. I can’t even tell you what a blessing it was! We got in lots of giggles too!
Friday morning, I hit the ground running. I took Ridley to my parents’ and headed to the casa to finish priming the board and batten and trim. Then I got a phone call that the house inspector would be at our house at noon and then the buyers would be there at 2. Ack! I left in a flurry and went to clean up the house…which looked like it threw up all over itself – SUCH a mess!
I took care of getting the water company to turn the water on and thank the Lord that I was there when the guy came to unlock the meter. Oh my word! What a flood we had…but it could have been SO much worse. Water was pouring out of the ceiling and down the walls in the breezeway between the garage and the house. I got the guy to turn off the water and got the landlady. Two pipes burst and plumbers had it fixed within a couple of hours.
I headed home to start packing. My mother-in-law has been a huge help with Ridley over the last several days. A few of my church family came by to help us pack and they stayed until almost 11 PM. In the meantime, I tripped and fell on my left knee. It hurt so badly that I got nauseated from the pain. I thought I had injured it terribly, but it’s progressively feeling better.
On Saturday morning at 10, 20 people descended on our home. Our house looked like a human-sized ant hill. They brought trucks, boxes, paper, strong arms and the hugest, giving hearts you can ever imagine. Eight hours later…and some amazed, thankful tears on my part, we were completely moved! Wow! I’m still amazed!
For the next few days, I’m working on painting kitchen cabinets {so I can get the cabs organized}, unpacking, throwing out and enjoying being home. I’ll also be working on finding the flatware, my curling iron, and many other “lost” necessities!
I can’t wait to show you pics! 🙂 Everything is looking cozy!
You truly are blessed. We have a lot of family in this state and every time we move we can’t find them. We have moved quite a bit and it has always been me, hubby and the five kids (then four, then three, then two .. as the older ones moved out on their own). This upcoming move… me, hubby and 0ur 19 month old son. This should be fun. Hope all goes well and you settle in quickly.
Welcome home girl!
Congrats on the move, Myra! Isn’t it a blessing to have wonderful friends who are willing to drop everything to lend a hand? 🙂
Wow! I’m almost dizzy just from reading all of that!
And, yes, welcome home! 🙂
welcome home!
anyone can get a new home and move, but not just anyone can fill it with 20 loving friends who are there to help! looks like your home is already full of love!
Thanks Darlene for your sweet comment! Let’s talk soon!
