Giving Life – A Virtual Baby Shower & HALO SleepSack {Giveaway!}
A few weeks ago, I was invited to a Sav-A-Life {pregnancy crisis center} banquet. I jumped at the opportunity because sweet babies are just such a gift and mommas need a lot of love and care. To say that my heart was touched would be an understatement. The speaker was incredibly motivating and a woman sang “Let Me Live”, a song that she had written. After she finished singing, this woman told us had had an abortion as a young person. There wasn’t a dry eye around.
I spoke with the pregnancy center director afterwards and told her of my dream to shower their clothes closet with baby items. She was beyond thrilled because the clothes closet is in great need.
I told the director that I blog {and she didn’t look at me like I had five heads! Ha!} and that I have the most amazing readers who would love to give to this wonderful ministry. I’ve developed a Virtual Baby Shower to benefit Sav-A-Life pregnancy center.
Urgent Baby Closet Needs:
- Diapers (Sizes: Newborn, 4 & 5) and Wipes
- Baby clothes (0-3 months) – Long sleeve sleepers, Hats and Socks for newborns etc.
- Baby clothes (12, 18, 24 months) – Fall and Winter clothes, Socks, Shoes, Hats etc.
- Note: They will accept both new and gently used baby items!
- Baby gear – Diaper bags, Bottles, Head supports, Toys, Lotion, Body wash, etc.
- Gift Cards (Target, Walmart, Babies R Us)
I will be collecting items through December 5th. Then we will deliver everything to the crisis center at one time. Many of the items that I review for the 30-Day Giving Challenge will also be donated to Sav-A-Life.
Please, dear readers, consider helping me with this endeavor. Let’s bless their socks off! Especially with the holidays coming I know that many families will benefit from this.
Will you help give life?
Leave a comment saying that you’d like to help and I will email you with more information. If you would like to donate through Paypal, let me know!

Speaking of babies and baby gear, the next sponsor for the 30-Day Giving Challenge is HALO® SleepSack®! A percentage of HALO Innovations’ profits are donated to charities that help in the fight against SIDS.
The unique HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. It is a warm, cuddly blanket babies can’t kick off, ensuring babies sleep soundly throughout the night. . The Swaddle design is exclusively available in Target stores.
A Few Safe Sleep Practices Suggested by HALO® SleepSack®:
- Place baby to sleep on his or her back at naptime and at night time.
- Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress that fits snuggly and is covered with only a tight-fitting crib sheet.
- Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers and positioners).
- Never dress your baby too warmly for sleep; keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.
Enter to win a HALO® SleepSack® for your family to keep or share:

Hi Myra, I swaddled my babies and now I have the blessing of swaddling my grandkids. It truly does make a difference.
Would you send me an address so I can send you some things for the virtual baby shower? I would love to get involved!
Thanks, sweetie.
Yvonne

I swaddled my DD. It made a HUGE difference, but it would be nice to get the Halo so my DH can use it too. He could never get the hang of swaddling.

I am a swaddler!!!!! We swaddled our first daughter by wrapping her in blankies. But she was a wiggler and would wriggle right out! Now I have a 2 month old and she LOVES being swaddled! We have a Halo and it is a wonderful invention! She sleeps soooo much better when she is swaddled – her jerky arms aren’t waking her up and I know she is nice and warm!

I’m definitely a swaddler, it is awesome! 🙂
We were non-swaddlers unfortunately. My daughter hated, from birth, being confined in anything. She still hates even getting her clothes changed at 14 months because she can’t move her arms or legs for a few seconds!
