Giving Life – A Virtual Baby Shower & HALO SleepSack {Giveaway!}

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a Sav-A-Life {pregnancy crisis center} banquet. I jumped at the opportunity because sweet babies are just such a gift and mommas need a lot of love and care. To say that my heart was touched would be an understatement. The speaker was incredibly motivating and a woman sang “Let Me Live”, a song that she had written.  After she finished singing, this woman told us had had an abortion as a young person. There wasn’t a dry eye around.

I spoke with the pregnancy center director afterwards and told her of my dream to shower their clothes closet with baby items. She was beyond thrilled because the clothes closet is in great need.

I told the director that I blog {and she didn’t look at me like I had five heads! Ha!} and that I have the most amazing readers who would love to give to this wonderful ministry. I’ve developed a Virtual Baby Shower to benefit Sav-A-Life pregnancy center.

Please, dear readers, consider helping me with this endeavor. Let’s bless their socks off!  Especially with the holidays coming I know that many families will benefit from this.

Speaking of babies and baby gear, the next sponsor for the 30-Day Giving Challenge is HALO® SleepSack®!  A percentage of HALO Innovations’ profits are donated to charities that help in the fight against SIDS.

The unique HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing.  It is a warm, cuddly blanket babies can’t kick off, ensuring babies sleep soundly throughout the night. . The Swaddle design is exclusively available in Target stores.

A Few Safe Sleep Practices Suggested by HALO® SleepSack®:

  • Place baby to sleep on his or her back at naptime and at night time.
  • Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress that fits snuggly and is covered with only a tight-fitting crib sheet.
  • Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers and positioners).
  • Never dress your baby too warmly for sleep; keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.

  1. Hi Myra, I swaddled my babies and now I have the blessing of swaddling my grandkids. It truly does make a difference.
Would you send me an address so I can send you some things for the virtual baby shower? I would love to get involved!
    Thanks, sweetie.
    Yvonne

  2. I swaddled my DD. It made a HUGE difference, but it would be nice to get the Halo so my DH can use it too. He could never get the hang of swaddling.

  3. Well, we are expecting a little boy in February and I plan to swaddle. This would be a great help! What a great idea for the virtual baby shower!

  4. I am a swaddler!!!!! We swaddled our first daughter by wrapping her in blankies. But she was a wiggler and would wriggle right out! Now I have a 2 month old and she LOVES being swaddled! We have a Halo and it is a wonderful invention! She sleeps soooo much better when she is swaddled – her jerky arms aren’t waking her up and I know she is nice and warm!

  5. I did swaddle my daughter and used sleep sacks until she had to be in a spica cast.

I would love to help with the virtual baby shower … I definitely have some baby supplies I can share.

  6. I was a swaddler. My kids are too big for these now, but if I win, please donate the swaddler to your virtual baby shower.

  7. I swaddled all of my babies and they were so content when I did too, we joked that they were little burrito babies:)

  8. I swaddled all three of my babies but most of the time they liked their arms free but their legs swaddled 🙂

  9. We were swaddlers. She loved it so much I was scared to stop. she transitioned really easy into the Halo sleepsacks.

  10. We were non-swaddlers unfortunately. My daughter hated, from birth, being confined in anything. She still hates even getting her clothes changed at 14 months because she can’t move her arms or legs for a few seconds!

  11. Yes, I was a swaddler when my three were babies, and I plan to swaddle the next little one that is due to be born in just 2 1/2 months. I can hardly wait!

  12. Baby #1 isn’t due until Valentines Day – but once s/he arrives I plan to swaddle (it was the ONLY thing that comforted my sister’s kids!)
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  13. I have been a swaddler with all 3 of our little ones, and will be with our 4th due in April as well 🙂 I think it makes babies so happy!
