Friday Fails – Of Slushes and Messy Cars

Photobucket

Today, Ridley and I hung out with my friend “A” and her sweet little girl. A gave me a fabulous pedicure. She actually texts me to ask if I want one…such a rare, precious friend. We had plans of lunch, stopping in at three thrift stores, Sonic and the splash pad.

When we got to Sonic and pulled into a parking space, we saw this…

So we moved to another spot. Then we ordered a slush and a limeade…only to hear that the slush machine was broken. What a sad day! 🙁

I said, “Forget it.” And we left.

Sonic slush machine fail.

When I mentioned to A that I was going to blog about Sonic’s need to get their slush machine fixed, she said, “Take a picture of your car and share it.” Snort.

So, I did.

You might think that I have no shame to show you how messy my car is right now, but actually, I’m too prideful to share the picture I took of the back seat floorboard. What a major mess of toys, empty cups and waffle fries.  Ahem.

Fail.

{Disclaimer: Cleaning the car is on my weekend to-do list. Ha!}

Is my car the ONLY one that collects garbage?  Seriously, it’s a chronic problem!

  1. One time I went to Sonic and their slushy AND ice cream machines were down. Major fail. I’m sure they lost a lot of business that day…

Isn’t it crazy how cars seem to collect so much stuff? Have fun cleaning it out this weekend! 😉

Oh, btw, I added a Fail of my own!

  2. My dad told me years ago that my car would never be clean again until the kids were all gone and off to college. At the time, I just rolled my eyes. How could I have know how right he was?

  3. A broken slush machine is sad!!

A “rule” my parents had growing up was to take everything out of the car when we arrived back home (trash, cups, shopping bags, everything!) I still (mostly) do that and it really helps!

Now, when it comes to keeping the car vacuumed and washed, I fail big time!

  4. Oh, dear! You have reminded me of what I was supposed to do this morning: Clean out MY CAR!

Seriously. Thank you for the reminder…and for your sweet honesty about your car “issues”. ;o)

  5. OMG I have a problem with keeping my car clean!!!!!!!!!! It is always filled with sticky toys (from kids spilling juice boxes… that I don’t really know about) old fries and nuggets (that get thrown either between the seats or in the back seat… we have a van) garbage…. random diapers (clean ones) kleenexes… you name it I probably have it is my car! I try my hardest but sometimes I don’t even think about it when I am just trying to get two toddlers in the house and everything else……..
    So don’t worry you aren’t a lone! 🙂

    1. Thank you for your sweet comment Lindsey! 🙂 I’m so excited that you participated! I will stop by soon and I need to respond to your email! 😉 Talk soon!

  6. I rarely have anyone in the car with me, so my front seat accumulates books on CD, pay stubs, ATM receipts and to-do lists. I have no idea what’s BEHIND my seats. I’m too affraid to look! 🙂 I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I wonder what the truckers think when they drive by and see inside my car…
