What Are Little Boys Made Of?
I love watching Ridley learn. He adores being outside and going to Pa-Paw’s and Ya-Ya’s house. Ridley has just started bringing me his shoes and saying, “On, On.” Then he says, “Bye, Bye.” It just melts my heart, so we jump in the car and go for a ride.
This past holiday weekend, we spent a lot of time with family at the farm where my parents, Memaw and my aunt and uncle live. Ridley enjoyed playing with sticks and balls, the animals, fresh air and especially having fun with Pa-Paw.
Playing with sticks!
Playing with a croquet ball.
See Myrtle the goat in the background? Ridley and Pa-Paw are taking leaves to feed her.
Goats love leaves…
Pa-Paw showed Ridley and Cayden (my cousin Mandy‘s son) how to “blow” grass. It was so loud!
I love that Ridley shadows his Pa-Paw. It makes both my mommy-heart and my daughter-heart very, very happy.

What are little boys made of?
Frogs and snails
And puppy-dogs’ tails,
That’s what little boys are made of.
Is there something that makes your mommy-heart really happy?

These pictures are priceless!
my mommy heart melting moments are those when I come downstairs after a night of my baby not sleeping and see daddy curled up on the couch with my son…. just snoozing away…… I just want to stop and capture that moment forever in my mind. So peaceful… makes you almost forget that you didnt get anysleep the first half of the night!
I love your pictures. Precious!! I added a giveaway to the Spanx post so make sure to come over and enter.
As my time increases being Ridley’s Papa, I look forward more every day to his smiles, hugs, and our mutual adventures together. He’s my Bubba!
I love to watch my sons eyes when he sees something new and exciting – the wonder and awe I see there makes me want to see things as a child again! I love his zest for life, all of his energy, and the little things that make him “Jack” 🙂 Thank you for this post – little boys are so special!
