Best Yard Sale Experience Ev-ah!

Yesterday and today, my sister Kelly and I had a wonderful yard sale. We have participated in yard sales before that never got much traffic and we never made much money. I have to say that Kelly lives in a prime neighborhood for great yard salers!

Miraculously, Ridley and I arrived at Kelly and Jacob’s house on Friday morning just minutes after 6 am. Yep, pretty sure that it was a miracle! We started pulling things out of the house and our first customer arrived about 5 minutes later. Technically the sale wasn’t supposed to start until 7, but you know how that goes.

My middle brother came and fixed breakfast for us. He made eggs, bacon and sausage. Kelly had already made a delicious fruit salad and blueberry muffins. Yum!

Here are some pictures from Friday morning…

How did two “families” come up with all this stuff??

You should have seen all the clothes we had for sale.

My youngest brother and my Mom stopped by around lunchtime to see how things were going. It was nice to just sit and relax. Mom brought her leftover blackberry cobbler (yum!).

After the sale, Kelly and I both went through our homes again to purge more stuff. On Friday night my sister, mom, Ridley and I went to an Uppercase Living party that was hosted by one of my dear friends. I’m excited about what I purchased! Some really cah-ute sayings! I’m thinking about hosting a party this fall. It would be SO fun!

On Saturday morning, my oldest-younger brother came to help us out. He also went to Chik-fil-A and brought breakfast back for us. It was so nice!

I was suprised that Saturday wasn’t nearly as busy as Friday. We think it might have had something to do with someone stealing one of our “yard sale” signs that we worked so hard to make. Overall both Kelly and I made lots of money for our “junk.” I think we made about 200.00 each, so I feel like it was very successful!

This coming week, we are going to donate all the un-sold items to a local charity…either the Salvation Army or a private charity called The Christian Foundation that runs a home for women and children.

  1. Glad you had a great sale – mine got rained out on Saturday, but that's okay I had a great Friday.

I have found that I always do more on the Friday – I know that seems weird but it has always been true!
