My New Coupon System
When I first started couponing, I kept my coupons in a binder like this, except for the fact that I used a 3 inch binder and it was still too small. I think I went through 2 binders because the binding kept breaking. After much frustration with having to fold coupons to get them to go into the baseball card holders, pull them out to check expiration dates and not being able to see all the information on them “at-a-glance”, I moved on to this accordian file system. (Note: For all of you girls who love the binder system, I admire you and I’m not “downing” your system! It’s just whatever works for each of us, right?)
My sister got me started with this system. You should see her file, it’s so neat, small and cute…just like her. Mine, however was bulging at the seams, overweight and not so cute…kinda like me! ha! But I loved the concept of having fewer categories, being able to pull a coupon and see all the information on it, no more folding and the file fit in my purse! SO, I started looking for a recipe card file type box, but I wanted something cuter than the regular, plain index card file with the plastic lid. I looked at the hinges on those boxes and I would probably wear through them in less than 2 weeks. So, I looked, shopped and browsed websites trying to find the perfect box. Well, I finally found this box at Office Depot. It’s not super cute, but I love it!!
I love your new coupon organizer! If I start getting more than 1 paper, then I’ll have to do something like that. You made me laugh really hard when you compared us to our coupon organizers! Ha. Just give me a few months and I’ll be much bigger I’m sure! 🙂
I’ve been wanting to start clipping coupons. But I can never find any. I think NJ is devoid of them. LOL
