13 Must-Have Travel Essentials

Happy Friday, lovely people! I hope you had a great week. Mine was busy, but I am so excited that my husband is off today. We are whisking the boys away for a day at the aquarium and whatever other fun stuff we can get into. :)

Y’all know I love my Young Living essential oils, right? So I thought it would be fun to share my favorite essential oils and other products that are my must-haves for traveling. :) Whether flying or driving to a destination, these help keep my family and me sane, calm and healthy.

1.  Peppermint

Peppermint is my go-to for motion sickness and upset tummies when traveling. It is great rubbed on the tummy, but I also inhaled it on the bumpiest plane ride in history and I didn’t feel sick at all. It was truly miraculous.

2. Thieves essential oil & other Thieves products

Thieves is an incredible immune booster. Also, the Thieves hand purifier, spray, and lozenges will always be with me when I’m on the road or in the air. The hand purifier is fantastic for potty breaks. The spray is great for toilet seats, and even a spray in your mouth freshens breath and keeps germs at bay. (The spray is a different formula from the household cleaner.) And the lozenges are good anytime for an extra immune boost.

3. Purification

If there are any unpleasant odors {I’m a mom of BOYS! Ahem.} in the car or in your hotel room, Purification is your BFF. Trust me on this. It will get rid of the smell pronto.

4. Valor

I am the world’s most anxious flyer. Valor on my wrists and behind my ears not only makes me smell nice, but it helps calm my overactive-brain-syndrome. Yes, I coined that term. Feel free to use it. Ha!

5. Joy

Along the same lines as Valor, a drop of Joy over my heart helps me relax and enjoy the ride. I have been known to inhale Joy and Valor straight from the bottle.

6. Peace & Calming

Who doesn’t need a little chill pill? Peace & Calming is my chill pill. Whether I’m stressed about getting everything in the car to leave on time or missing a flight, Peace & Calming is my go-to. A drop or two on my shoulders does the trick. Peace & Calming is also a must-have for calming antsy children…especially at bed time.

7. Di-Gize

This essential oil blend doesn’t come in the Premium Starter Kit that I love, but I will never be without it. It helps settle upset stomachs almost instantly. Di-Gize is the bomb for tummy aches, motion sickness and other digestive issues! It’s a little smelly to some, but we love it. Ridley asks for Di-Gize for his sensitive stomach and it works quickly. Love it!

8. Lemon

I use Lemon essential oil in my glass water bottle all. the. time. Seriously! Even if you’re flying, you can take an empty water bottle in your carry on. I usually buy bottled water after I’m through security to fill up my glass bottle.  Lemon oil is also great for keeping ears unclogged, so they don’t hurt during ascent and descent.

9.  Lavender

Lavender is wonderfully calming and relaxing. It’s great for kids too. Lavender is known as the “swiss army knife of oils” because it has so many chemical constituents.

10. NingXia Red

Last, but definitely not least, I don’t go anywhere without my NingXia Red. I purchase packets of NR that are perfect for on-the-go. NingXia Red helps overcome jet lag and is an incredible anti-oxidant. Just one ounce a day can make a huge impact on your health!

I hope this information has been helpful! I have more traveling than normal on the schedule this year, so I will be keeping good stock of these oils and other products for my adventures.

The oils I mentioned {except for Di-Gize} are available in the Premium Starter Kit along with other awesome oils. And you get two sample packs of the NingXia Red in the kit too. :) You can find out more details here and check out all my essential oils posts too!

Have a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

  1. I’m a fellow YL user and I loved this post! I love hearing how other people use the oils and which ones are their favorite.

How do you guys use Di-Gize? I think it stinks but I have given it to my husband in capsule form and it worked well. I’m curious how you use it on the go. Feet? In water? A different way?

Hey Laura, It does stink. LOL BUT we use it topically and internally. My son rubs it on his belly. He loves it.
