Easy “Spicy” Crockpot Chicken
Good morning, lovely friends! I’m so excited to share this family favorite recipe for “spicy” crockpot chicken. It’s not really spicy at all, but you can spice it up as much as you want. We love quick and easy dinners, so this recipe is a go-to for me.
I always look for organic chicken on manager’s special at the grocery store. This crockpot chicken recipe is a great way to use it up quickly. If you need to stock the freezer with some meals, this recipe is perfect to cook and freeze.

Easy “Spicy” Crockpot Chicken
- 3 chicken breasts
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 cup water
- Real salt, to taste {I usually use 1/2-1 teaspoon}
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
Place chicken breasts on the bottom of a slow cooker. Add all other ingredients on top of the chicken breasts. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours. When meat is cooked through use a knife and fork to shred it.
Note: Sometimes the mixture is a little runny, so I like to use a slotted spoon when dishing it up to serve.
Enjoy with tortilla chips or wrapped up in a tortilla with salsa, sour cream and cheese. YUM!
Serves 4-6.
My family raves about this dinner! Just don’t tell them it took me all of 10 minutes to make! *wink*
What is your family’s favorite meal? I would love to hear!
xoxo

Looks yummy! I do something very similiar. I use the chicken…add salt, pepper, taco seasoning. Then pour 1 jar of salsa on top, cook for 4 hour on high or 8 on low. Then shred. Very good! 🙂
I made this recipe today for my boyfriend, he says I’m an excellent cook, but the credit is all yours, Myra! Thank you for your help!
