Easy Fall Flower Can Door Decor

/ / / /

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. I whipped up an easy Fall project this weekend. It’s actually been on my t0-do list for a long time. I made a smaller version a few years ago and several folks have asked me about a tutorial, so here is my Easy Fall Flower Can Door Decor project! What I love about this project is how easy {you can’t mess it up, I promise} and inexpensive it is to make.

Isn’t it pretty?! I love it!! The rustic vibe of the can with the ribbons, raffia and flowers are just so fun. Here’s how you can make one too!

Supplies Needed:

  • Silk flowers – Dollar Tree or Hobby Lobby on sale are good options.
  • Metal can – You can use a smaller can, but I love the large size tomato juice can!
  • Styrofoam
  • Ribbon and raffia – Scraps are the best!
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Buttons or other embellishments

Make sure the can is clean and then stuff styrofoam inside. I broke my styrofoam piece in half and then pushed one half into the can. It fit tightly.

If you want to hang your flower can like mine, add ribbon {using hot glue} going up the sides of the can…forming a big loop. Also, add ribbon around the can for added color and texture.

Finish the seams by hot gluing buttons or other embellishments in place.

Cut the silk flowers apart and stick them into the styrofoam. Don’t stress over this step. The goal is to make it look like you went out and picked a bouquet of flowers fresh from a field. Imperfection is beautiful!

Hang up your flower can on your front door and enjoy! 🙂 I’ve also hung my Fall flower can beside my front door on my porch or somewhere inside my house. Either way works!

This simple, little project is great to do with older kids…not so much with my preschooler. Ha! My pretty Fall flower can adds such a great punch of color to my seasonal decor.

Are y’all all decorated for Fall? Have you started {gasp!} to think about Christmas?! I have and I am so excited!! 🙂

**For those in the path of the devastating hurricane, please know that you are in my prayers. Be safe!!!

  3. Myra, cherish this straightforward specialty. Fall is my most loved time, and I’ve been needing to beautify for it more in my home, so this art is straight up my back road.

  4. Exceptionally adorable!! I have a comparable game plan in a little crate with a calfskin strap! I hung mine on my secretary in the lounge room.

  5. Such an inviting floral arrangement to consider! I like the way you encourage us to try…and I’ll be sure to do this with my daughter. She loves flowers and enjoys the trips to the craft stores. Thanks for the tutorial!

  7. I loved rustic and very simple the way I like it and also very easy to do using materials that would go to waste. It decorates the house and still helps the environment.

  8. This is just so beautiful! I can’t wait to make one for my home…after this dumb hurricane is over and I can leave the house to go get some supplies
