Rhinestone Embellished Tee {Tutorial}

This little rhinestone embellished tee brought me so much joy to create!  I was surprised by how simple it was to make with my awesome Silhouette machine!  I made it for my sweet niece Lily because I didn’t think Ridley would be too appreciative of a flowery t-shirt. Ha!

My sister purchased a simple $3.00 tee that was just Lily’s size.

I broke out my Silhouette Rhinestone Starter Kit and got to work!

Several free designs came with the rhinestone kit, so I chose one of them.  Can’t pass up free! Then I used the Silhouette machine to cut the design out of the rhinestone template material.

Once I adhered it to the backer board, I got busy adding rhinestones!

Bling, bling!

This video makes me laugh and perfectly shows the rhinestone-ing technique.  {Yes, I just totally made up that word!}

I ironed the rhinestones on with a towel between the iron and the design.  Once I removed the transfer tape, I turned the shirt inside out and ironed it from the back as well to set the design.

A piece of polka dot ribbon was perfect to finish off Lily’s shirt. I used some iron-on interfacing and then I stitched the ribbon on with my sewing machine. I love how the ribbon turned into a “faux-belt!”

I just have to give a shout out to Kelly Joy Boutique!  My sis makes the most adorable handmade flair.  She made Lily’s hair clip in this picture!

I love rhinestone-ing {there’s that word again!} because it’s so fun, easy and CUTE! Now I just need to have a little girl!
