Sunday Meditations – The World In My Heart

by Myra on June 13, 2010

Do you ever step back in amazement at how much of the world resides in your heart? I’ve been thinking a lot about the world in my heart this week.

We don’t need movies, magazines, tv shows, and all other various “worldly” clutter to fill our hearts to make it ooze the world.

The world is already in there.

If we are not passionately pursuing God, the world is taking up more real estate in our hearts.

The opposite to pursuing God isn’t an unmoving constant but it is a running (not walking) pursuit of the world.

Battling the world in our hearts is a fight that we must individually fight. It won’t be fully won until eternity.

“Love of God, so pure and changeless,
Blood of Christ, so rich and free;
Grace of God, so strong and boundless
Magnify them all in me;
Even me, even me,
Magnify them all in me.”

Today I’m fighting the world in my heart. Won’t you join me?

Such great thoughts….ones that have been on my mind lately as well. I hope that we both can have our minds feel with the Lord on this beautiful Sunday!!
(and yes we definitely need to plan getting together in Huntsville sometime SOON!) Thanks so much for your encouraging posts.
