Loving Local Events!
This past Saturday our Tiny Town hosted a Spring Festival / Car and Tractor Show. It was SO much fun! There were tons of activities for kids – face painting, rock wall climbing and inflatables. My sweet hubby even tried out the climbing wall and inflatable slide – he’s SUCH a kid at heart! There was also live bluegrass style music…it was a hoot!
Our church had a tent where we gave out free homemade cookies and information about our church. We had a blast! I got so sunburnt that even now, my neck is still hot. Ouch.
The red tractor in the collage used to be my Granddaddy’s. My Memaw sold it a year or two ago and the new owner made it look brand new. In the lower left corner, Ridley is sitting on a wheel. So cute!
There was also some jigging…this guy was awesome!
My picture was in Sunday’s paper. I promise I wasn’t mad. Probably just really tired. I had just gotten home late Friday night from Texas and got up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to head to the show. It was a wonderful day!
I can hardly wait to catch some of the other fabulous local events coming up in our community!

So… you have a Spring Festival/Car and Tractor show AND a newspaper with color?! Girl, I’m thinking your town does not qualify as a Tiny Town. More than 500 people? = Not Tiny. 😉
@Amy @ Finer Things, LOL! Actually the newspaper was from a neighboring town. My town doesn’t even have one. 🙂 We have no stoplights…only 2 yellow blinking lights in the middle of town. If you blink you’ll definitely miss us! 🙂

We’re getting ready to move to a new city this summer, so I am really looking forward to experiencing “new” summer activities there and getting to (hopefully!) make new friends.

Local events are such fun, your pix are great! We live in the DFW area, but hightail it to Granbury every chance we get to enjoy the essence of “small town” Texas 🙂

I love festivals and things like that. And you are really making me miss Alabama in the summer. Even in non-smiling picture you look absolutely gorgeous. Props for that.

Not an event really, but we love going to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch here. They have lots of fun things going on throughout the year.

We are going to a local art festival tomorrow. I live for this stuff all summer long!!!
I live in a small town in PA which hosts numerous Car Shows throughout the summer! It brings many people from all over the country and beyond (I’ve seen plates from Quebec!) to our little town. 🙂
