Sunrises and Rainbows

“The heavens
declare
the glory of God…”

“…the firmament shows
His handiwork…”

“And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it,…

(do you see the double rainbow?)

…that I may remember
the everlasting covenant

between God and every living creature

of all flesh that is upon the earth.”

**Here’s the story behind these photos…this morning I woke up to a very eerie light coming in through the windows. Eerie…you know, the way it looks outside before a storm. Well, I peeped out the window and saw a glorious sunrise, so I grabbed my camera and ran out the door (literally!). As I ran out, I was stopped in my tracks at the amazing complete rainbow that was in front of me…directly opposite from the sunrise! It was gorgeous, awe-inspiring and just left me completely amazed at our Creator God! These photos don’t even come close to capturing the beauty that was mine to enjoy this morning, but I hope that they will encourage you that God has not forgotten His promises to us. The best is yet to be!

  1. Beautiful post. So ironic because we get that 'eerie light' a lot in the summer due to our late afternoon/evening thunderstorms and just tonight I noticed it and it just sort of stops you in your tracks for a moment and my thought always is of God. My daughter loves to tell people about why we get Rainbows and how it started with Noah. Thanks for todays post.

  2. Beautiful pictures! God's handiwork is incredible.

I love your new blog title/picture. It looks great!!
