For The Beauty Of The Earth
Yesterday, I got my fingers in the dirt. It felt good to plant flowers and herbs. I also watched a huge, HUGE storm complete with 60 mph winds, lightning, hail and massive amounts of rain.
I thoroughly enjoyed every quiet minute of working outside. As I planted, the words of the hymn “For The Beauty Of The Earth” came to my mind.
For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise. For each perfect gift of thine,
To our race so freely given,
Graces human and divine,
Flowers of earth and buds of heaven,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.-Pierpoint
We have so, SO much to be grateful for. The air, the clouds, the blue sky, gray skies, flowers, weeds, growth, life…and on and on and on.
Let’s lift our grateful praise together today!
What are YOU thankful for today?

My list does not have an end, but here are a few things I’m grateful for today: My husband’s love of God’s word. My 2 year old daughter, who lights up my days and nights (even when she’s waking up 5+ times a night, like last night!). Our church/pastor, who is not afraid to preach the truth, offensive though it may be to some. To God be the glory! My job, which provides our family with health insurance. (I was just informed that I may not have a job next year.) My family, even though far away geographically, they’re never far from mind. Our home, small, but filled with love, warmth and laughter.
