DIY Spray Paint Makeovers
I’ve been wanting to get some spray painting done for several weeks, but it just hadn’t happened…until yesterday. I found a few cute things thrifting recently and finally had a chance to give them a new look. I’m just tickled with my “new decor” that I’ve put out on the front porch.
Isn’t this lantern fabulous? It used to be rather bland and ugly.
Can you say dark, dark and dated? Ha! I found the lantern for $2, the butterflies for 0.75 and the little hanging spinny thing-a-ma-bob {what is it called??} for $3 all at thrift stores.
I chose two colors from my spray paint collection and went to town painting.
The butterflies were much improved in an instant. I still need to figure out exactly what I’m doing with them.
This lovely thing is just the perfect, bright, fun touch for the front porch. I love, love, love it.
And once again the cute lantern that started out not-so-cute. Be sure to check out my project gallery for more spray painting and diy projects! 🙂
Have you spray painted anything lately?
I’m linking up to Sarah’s spray painting party and Weekend Wrap Up Party!

Amazing!! I love your porch, such a wonderful spot to relax…..these treasures will be fabulous additions 🙂
I love how you can “see” a treasure. I was in a thrift store the other day (which is a rare thing for me to be able to do), and I thought, Myra would be seeing beauty in all this junk. 🙂

LOVE the lantern! It’s much more spectacular after your paint job. And for the butterflies, my mom had those back in the day. I think they were from good ol’ Home Interior. Remember that? My mom used to have in-home parties. Based on how much you’d sell, you could get free items. That was a big thing when I was a kiddo.
Anyhoo…love your ‘new’ things!

Fabulous! I recognized those butterflies instantly b/c my mom had some identical ones when I was little. Not sure what happened to them…maybe I need to go shopping at her house. 😉
Very cute! I adore spray painting things.

Question: I want to spray paint some metal things that will see occasional handling. How durable is spray paint on metal if it might get the occasional bump? Any suggestions for metal paint?
