Vintage China & Pyrex

On Saturday morning, Ridley and I hit the streets around 7:45 a.m. looking for some treasures.  We stopped at literally thirteen yard sales.  Yes, thirteen.

I guess I just can’t get enough of the thrill of the hunt even when I have to drag Ridley in and out of the car. And carry him on my hip because I took him straight from his bed to the carseat, so he had no shoes on. Ha!  We had breakfast on the go. 🙂

I found several treasures, but I’m going to save a few things to show you next week.  {da da da dum}

I snagged this beautiful vintage Keystone plate by Canonsbury Pottery for $2.00.  This pattern {anyone know the name of it?} was discontinued in 1933, so this plate is old!  I’m planning on hanging it in the kitchen when we get it finished. 🙂

At another sale I found a vintage Pyrex bowl for 0.50.  The “patina” is from running it from the dishwasher multiple times.  Most people would consider the bowl “ugly” and lacking “value”, but for me?  I think it’s beautiful and I’m looking forward to using it regularly!

Did you hit any yard sales this weekend? Do you know where I could find the name of the Keystone Canterbury Pottery Plate pattern?

Happy Monday!

  1. That bowl has great patina!! I don’t mind an old faded finish, at all. It still serves its purpose and it still has great charm. Am visiting from Rhoda’s party. 🙂 Sue

  2. Your bowl has personality with its worn patina. I love old pyrex and grab as much as I can when I find it in thrift shops. That plate is stunning and will look great on your kitchen wall.

  3. Oh, I like the patina of that bowl also. I just bought a Pyrex bowl this week, so I better check into the whole dishwasher issue.

  4. I have sworn myself off yard sales until I can get rid of some clutter around my house, but I love those pieces! The Pyrex reminds me of my Mimmie’s Pyrex dishes. If only I had known back in the 80’s to ask for her dishes! I’d have tons of vintage Pyrex! : )

  5. Hi Myra!

    I was going to suggest http://www.replacements.com too! They have all crazy-kinds of patterns, so I’m sure they’ll have it.

    The only thing I recently purchased were some glass insulators….all Hemingray. A few are aqua, one or two are green and two are white. I’m still in search of an amethyst one. At a reasonable price! I found this last batch at a yard sale in a big box…..$1 a piece!!

    My daughter and I need to hit the flea market again…..one stall always has beautiful vintage glass pieces!!!
