Sunday Meditations – Prayer
I love the words to this old song – “Approach, My Soul, The Mercy Seat.” This hymn was written by John Newton who also wrote “Amazing Grace.”
It is so encouraging that when we pray, Jesus hears and answers our prayers. It might not be the answer that we want, but His way is always best.
Approach, my soul, the mercy seat,
Where Jesus answers prayer;
There humbly fall before His feet,
For none can perish there.Be Thou my Shield and hiding Place,
That, sheltered by Thy side,
I may my fierce accuser face,
And tell him Thou hast died!O wondrous love! to bleed and die,
To bear the cross and shame,
That guilty sinners, such as I,
Might plead Thy gracious Name.
by John Newton
I hope that these words bless your soul today. 🙂

Thank you for sharing that hymn song. Well, I like it. In fact, God always hears and answers our prayers. His answers might be YES, NO, or WAIT. Whatever the answer is, I believe I’m in the right hand, and He knows what’s best for me.
