Sunday Meditations – It’s ALL About Grace
If one word could describe where I’ve been “camped out” spiritually for the last few weeks it would be “grace.” It is overwhelming to begin to understand the reality of God’s grace.
Sometimes I just want to ask, “Really? Me?”
God set His love on me because of His love and His grace. Not because of how well I would love Him or how well I would serve Him…because the reality of ME is that I fail. And I fail miserably.
Yet He loves me. Yet He pours out his amazing grace on ME.
Boggles my mind.
Makes my heart sing.
Forces me to my knees.
Makes tears run down my face.
I’m immensely thankful for God’s grace. His grace impacts our lives in different ways:
- Common grace
- Saving grace
- Sanctifying grace
- Sustaining grace
- Preserving grace
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.-by Julia H. Johnston
Won’t you join me in adoration of God and His marvelous grace today?
This is exactly where I’ve been spiritually the past few weeks also. I actually wrote a couple of posts about it earlier this week. For me it’s been learning to accept God’s grace and give grace that I’ve struggled with. http://www.ordinarilyextraordinary.com/2010/08/grasping-at-grace.html

Myra, I loved this post because it really hits home for me. Grace has always been the thing that instantly brings tears to my eyes because I understand that I do not deserve anything yet the Lord gave everything…for me. BLOWS MY MIND! One song that always gets me is “Hallelujah! What a Savior!” and this particular line always pricks my heart:
“Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
“Full atonement!” can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!”
It helps put life into perspective. I am nothing. He is the King of Kings and He loved me (a SINNER-guilty, vilema and helpless) and gave His all so that I could enjoy sweet fellowship with Him.
His grace and His love are not something we can fully understand but praise the Lord they are things we do get to enjoy and share with others. 🙂
