Concerts In The Park
Last week, I told you about how much we loved the car show in my “town.” I hesitate to call my “town” a town, because it’s really just the country. I grew up in the country and now I live in the most urban part of the country. Does it count that I live in the middle of a cornfield?
When I have to go to the grocery store or run errands, I say that I “have to go to town.”
This past Monday, we went to “town” for a concert in the park! It was SO much fun!
My brother-in-law did a fabulous job conducting.
The retirees came over to the park for the concert.
Ridley loved the concert – obviously! Ha!
Ridley enjoyed raisins :: Friends listened :: And a train came by!
And Lily Grace (my sister’s baby) read about Rosy the red rhinoceros.
The weather was beautiful, the smiling faces were refreshing and the music was superb. There’s nothing like FREE entertainment!!
Do you go to concerts in the park where you live?

We actually do…. every friday night during the summer. It’s wonderful. And I on a daily basis get teased about ‘going into town’. My co-worker says I make it sound like I have to hitch up the wagon and prepare for a 3 day journey! Somedays after packing up 2 young kids for a shopping trip – it feels like I might be gone for 3 days!
Blessings…..
I completely understand, I live in the country as well. Looks like you had a wonderful time. I love those kinds of “town” events! Good times 😀

My toddler loves music. I’m going to check local listings for concerns in the park. So fun.

I wish that my town had something like this – when Hubby and I visited St. Louis – they had a HUGE concert in the park – there were so many people there…it was fantastic! Local restaurants had set up shop and this whole community was there! I loved it! Wish now that I had had the courage to get up and dance with Hubby like some of the locals did. Have a great week!

I also say I am going into “town”. Well, I used to, when I didn’t live in a true city (Milwaukee is my home currently). We are moving back “up north” (in Wisconsin) next month and I will be using that phrase again, often! I do miss the country, the farms, the nature etc. I can’t wait to SMELL the countryside when we get back. I think that is the part I miss the most!
We also have city festivals nearly every weekend in the summer with music and food and I can’t wait to attend them again! It is so fun going somewhere and being able to run into a million people you know and just talk. Free fun is the best fun!

In any case, mass events are a chance to get an unforgettable experience, to hear songs performed live. I usually buy cheap concert tickets here. This is a sense of homeland and a special flavor, immersion in a completely different world.
