Happy Thanksgiving!!

I have been looking forward to this holiday for months! Not because of the turkey, but in the simple words of a dear friend, “I’m thankful for the ability to be thankful.” Truly the ability is God-given. We have so much to be thankful for — more than we often realize on a daily basis.

We have some great plans for the next couple of days. Prince Charming is getting up at “the crack of dawn” to meet his mom and brother for coffee/breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Then he and a bunch of guys are meeting at my parents’ to shoot skeets. For Thanksgiving dinner at Memaw’s house, I’m making a hashbrown casserole, a lettuce salad and a Pumpkin-Ginger Pie. My sister and I are hoping to get some “family” photos tomorrow as well.

On Friday morning, Prince Charming and I are going to fight brave the crowds while Kelly and Jacob take care of Ridley. Then I’m making these wings to take to Kelly’s house for the Alabama/Auburn game bash. Should be fun!?! I love college football, but I mostly don’t care who wins–mostly. Oh, and Prince Charming and Jacob are smoking our turkey. Yum!

Top 10 Things I’m Thankful For:

1. Salvation in Christ

2. My husband who is everything to me. He is a wonderful provider in every way. I love you babe!

3. Our son who is such a gift from God. We are blessed.

4. Family — we are incredibly close. They are “my peeps!”

5. My church

6. Life — I’ve been reminded more and more that it is a gift.

7. Health

8. 40 pounds lost — Is that (too) vain?

9. Seasons in life like seasons in nature

10. The AMAZING women that I have met in the last 8 months since I started blogging. Y’all are the best!

  2. Chad and I are also "braving" the crowds tomorrow morning. I'm not really sure why, but we are. Then, we will definitely be tuned in to that very special ball game. Roll Tide!!
