Enjoying God & Loving My Life

/

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about my life. I’ve asked myself a lot of questions about my…

Priorities.

Relationship with God.

Home.

Need of More Organization.

Relationships.

Friendships.

Goals.

Projects (that I need to be accomplishing).

Purpose.

What is my purpose?

To glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.

How do I glorify and enjoy God at this time in my life of changing diapers, wiping baby bottoms and snotty noses, giving baths, making baby food, trying to stay above the ever growing pile of laundry (both dirty and clean), cooking, cleaning, errand running and trying to enjoy God??

I glorify Him by fulfilling my calling–see above. I enjoy Him daily by thanking Him and praising Him for allowing me to be a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister. I want to show Him to others. I want them to see Him through me.

This beautiful Thursday, I’m loving the life that God has given me. I don’t deserve His abundant blessings, yet He gives and gives and gives some more…even when I repeatedly fail at enjoying Him every. single. day.

  1. Good for you! There is no greater calling, in my opinion, than what you're doing. How wonderful to embrace the blessings you've been given and give thanks for them. (I was changing a diaper as I read this post, believe it or not… and the washer and dryer hum in the background. It's a beautiful life!)

  2. Amen!! I agree completely. It took me years to realize how blessed I am as a wife and mom. God is so good. I thank Him for all He's done. And He LOVES being present in our everyday lives!! So cool.

  3. Thanks for the awesome reminder! Even though I love staying home, sometimes I feel like I have no purpose, but I know I do! Thank you for your post!

  4. Amen, sister! THIS is our ministry right now…and what a blessing it is! Thank you for the beautiful, inspiring, post.

  5. Great post! Yes, God has blessed us by setting us up as wives and mommies. In the middle of all the work, the messes and the fatigue, we need to remember that! 🙂

  6. What a great reminder. It is hard to feel like you have any sort of a calling when trapped in the mundane of motherhood. But I agree, it is a VERY high calling. Going to try and rejoice in it today.

  7. Love your purpose. It's not at all about us but about enjoying God and glorifying Him….I totally agree, that we must do that in ALL things that we find ourselves doing!
    Thanks!
