Drained, But Thankful

I’m completely brain dead. I have no idea what to blog about tonight. But I’ve been thinking about doing a question and answer post in the near future. So, if you have any questions that you’d like me to answer just leave a comment.

The last 24 hours have been very stressful for me. Ridley just wasn’t himself yesterday. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t know what. This morning around 3:45, he woke up burning hot with a fever. I immediately gave him Tylenol and a cool bath. I kept a cool washcloth on his forehead and he was able to go back to sleep.

I even called my mom at 4 AM just to get reassurance that he was going to be okay and that I didn’t need to take him to the ER.

Are all first time mommys this worried? Am I a total spazz?

Thankfully Ridley’s 8 month check up was already scheduled for this morning. The dr. found that he has an ear infection in his right ear. Poor little man.

I’m still having to control the fever with Tylenol, but with a large dose of antibiotic in his system, hopefully it won’t be long before Ridley’s feeling much better.

Won’t you pray that his little body will heal quickly?

  1. Awww, I hope your little guy is feeling better! There is nothing worse than a sick kiddo who can't tell you what is hurting.

And NO, you are NOT a total spazz! I was the same way 9 years ago! 🙂

  2. Oh, those ear infections are the worst! And, they can be soooo scary at first for Momma!

And like Lyss said… you are NOT a total spazz!!! I did the same thing 5 years ago, and took my baby to the ER. Yes, it was just an ear infection, I was freaked out! 😉

  3. Oh poor Ridley! You are not a spaz! I had the same issue with my 22 month old about 2 weeks ago. He's recently been going to daycare and had never been sick. Two weeks into daycare he's had everything! but two weeks ago he had an ear infection and pink eye and a fever of 102! I was flipping out, so you are not alone =) I took him to the doc and the gave him antibiotics and me directions and then I was ok =)

  4. Oh sweet little one! I haven't dealt with an ear infection yet, although many times Jax's teething symptoms are very close to that of an ear infection.

I hope that Ridley is feeling more himself today and that the pressure is gone.

One thing that I think that has saved us is when we give him baths, we always try to keep the water out of his ears. I don't even know if that's a proven fact in prevention or not LOL,

Thinking of you today, Yah for 8 months!!

  5. I can guarantee you that you are not alone and this coming from someone who is not even a mommy yet. From what I have seen and heard, I think it is that way with every new mom.
Poor little guy, ear infections are absolutely no fun. Hope he gets to feeling better soon!
I will be praying for strength, endurance and health for both Ridley AND you!

  6. *Lifting prayers up for your little guy*.

Q: What are some of your hobbies? What do you like to do in your 'spare' time-if there is such a thing! lol
