You probably think that there’s nothing special about black boots…well, MY black boots have been best friends with my feet for months. Throughout the last trimester of my pregnancy, these black boots were an essential part of my wardrobe. Wardrobe meaning a waning amount of clothing that actually fit. Anyway, these black boots were awesome. They were comfortable, warm and (my favorite) they covered my disgustingly flabby calves and cankles as my husband called my swollen ankles. 🙂 At least I didn’t have to look too nasty as I ran errands or went to church. These boots were my lifesaver…aesthetically, mentally and emotionally. I’m a heels type of girl and they made me feel much, much better! Height is slimming, right? They started showing wear and tear when one of the heels became loose…about November of last year…and I still wore them. Yes, even being pregnant. My Dad even repaired them once for me.
Well, as I was getting ready to go out to eat with my amazing husband on Tuesday night, I looked fondly at my boots and decided to wear them one more time. As I was walking into the laundry room, to iron my hubby’s shirt…all of a sudden, my right foot was completely f-l-a-t on the floor! I think that was the last nail in the coffin of these wonderful boots. I’ll be on the lookout for a new pair for next winter! But for now, I’m just remembering how much I loved these boots and how well they served me! Here is a picture of what happened.

What a shame! I love boots too – I just got the cutest red suede pair on clearance at Aerosols for $10. I hope you can find some replacements for yours.
Sounds like your boots served you well and the timing was fortunate to happen after your pregnancy. I have the same problem and have become good friends with my local cobbler to squeeze every last step out of my fav black boots. Since they are so versatile, I think we all push them to the limits and hope they have nine lives!

Awesome post!! So glad they didn’t break while you were pregnant or carrying the baby! And so glad you didn’t fall! 🙂
