For The Day I Picked Up A 400* Pyrex Bowl

Happy Friday! Two weeks ago, I pulled a 400* Pyrex bowl out of the oven with an oven mitt. Two seconds later, without thinking, I picked it up again from the stove top…without an oven mitt.

OUCHY! I was on fire!

I grabbed my Young Living Lavender essential oil and doused my hand.

Here’s how how the next 2 1/2 hours went…

Burn Relief

[pinit count=”horizontal”]

1.  12:30 P.M. – Just after I applied Young Living Lavender essential oil. Oh, it was so very red. 🙁

2.  1:00 P.M. – After icing twice and using more Lavender essential oil…the discomfort was still severe. I used Valor essential oil on my wrists and Peppermint essential oil on the opposite hand. The relief was sweet!

3.  2:00 P.M. – Any discomfort was almost gone, but the skin was still very sensitive.

4.  3:00 P.M. Completely back to normal. No discomfort at all. Considering that my entire hand touched the bowl, I am so thankful.

5.  Exactly two weeks later… That little red spot never blistered that I could see or feel, but Monday night I noticed that it must have been a blister at some point. I was so surprised because it never hurt.

Isn’t that incredible!?! 🙂

I use and recommend Young Living essential oils. Please be very careful to use therapeutic-grade essential oils.

  1. An aloe plant. Especially soothing if you cut a leaf and put it in the fridge. You need the gloppy oozy gooey stuff from the leaf, not the flesh.

  2. very glad you healed so quickly; i need to pick some up. do you have a good remedy for a deep cut. I just cut my thumb with a mandoline slicer {oh an epic multi-tasking failure while listening to my preschooler and not paying attention to my blade} It’s quite a deep wound that bleeds when i apply pressure. I’ve put a butterfly bandage on it so far as well as neosporin. got any more ideas?

    1. Oh dear! Cuts are the worst…especially on a mandolin slicer. Ouch! Lavender is excellent for stopping bleeding and it’s anti-bacterial as well. I hope you feel better soon!
