Valentine's Day Vignette

by Myra on January 23, 2011

This week I haven’t exactly worked on unpacking very much because I’ve been doing some Valentine’s Day decorating. {blush} Priorities, people! Ha!

Since we haven’t gotten our new mantel installed yet {I’ll give you a sneak peek at it soon!}, I asked Beth if it would be okay if I linked up a Valentine’s vignette to her mantel party.  She said, “Of course!” So I got to work.

I chose my apple green desk because it’s one of the half decent parts of my house right now. Ahem.

Ta-to-the-da!

This corner of my living room is so bright and cheery…

…shhhhh, and romantic!

I made a a heart-shaped burlap wreath and two satin ruffle heart wreaths too.  Tutorials on those babies are coming soon!  They were so easy and inexpensive to make! :)

{be still my decor-crafting-lovin’ heart}

Tulips and roses on my favorite flowers and the vignette needed some “life” so I snagged these for $10 at Walmart!

I made this adorable “be mine” topiary {tutorial coming soon on my other blog!}  I used my new Silhouette machine to vinyl “be mine” on my recent thrift store bucket find and I love it!

{happy sigh}

I bought conversation hearts {where did their quality go??} and filled one of my old Ball jars with them.

This leather flower is from our February wedding almost five years ago.  They were worn as boutineers and corsages.  {love}

{more ruffle-y love}

And you can see one of my old aqua insulators peeking out too!

This package tag “l-o-v-e” art was inspired by something I saw in a magazine ten years ago and I made it for my husband before he was my husband. We go wayyyy back…like all the way back to when I was 9 and he was 10. We knew the moment we saw each other that one day we would get married.  Don’t believe me?  Read our love story. :)

I used my Silhouette to cut out most of these hearts that I hung from a yard sale picture frame.  The dimensional hearts I just eyeballed and put together.

I’m so happy with how my V-day vignette turned out!  It brightens my day and I hope it’s brightened yours! :)

Stay tuned for upcoming tutorials and other fun stuff by subscribing via email or reader!

And…a huge thank you to Beth for hosting the blogosphere’s best mantel parties! :)

Have you decorated for Valentine’s Day yet?

Hi Myra, I’m stopping by from A2Z. I really like all of your hearts – I especially like that you hung most of them from ribbons. Nice job, everything contrasts nicely with your green desk.

Hi Myra,
Your Valentine vignette is just wonderful. Your photography is fabulous. I think the angle shot from the floor up of your green desk is my favorite. Awesome creations! Thanks so much for sharing with us all.

Oh Myra – I am so inspired now to do my table in the foyer! After the Christmas decor was down, I have 2 lamps, large plate on a stand, and 2 candles – boring! I’m ready for hearts, hearts, hearts! <3

Your vignette is gorgeous! I love the pretty hanging hearts in the frame. Sounds like your love story is similar to mine. My family met my husband’s family when I was 4 and he was 5, but we didn’t start dating until college! :) Have a great week!
