Keepin' It Real – A Real Life Mess!

We’ve been “moved in” here at the casa for almost two weeks, but it’s taking a LONG time to get everything unpacked, organized and put away.  Sigh.  Melissa told me so and now I totally believe her. 🙂

So, I decided that it was worth it to show you how incredibly insane the house looks right now. I hate it, but I’m learning to love and live amid imperfection.

The pictures are equally as horrible as the messy rooms because I took them at night…and I used the flash.  A heinous crime, I know. And…I just realized that I didn’t get a picture of every room.  Oh well.  Just imagine that the other rooms are equally as disastrous. Ha!

Maybe, just maybe it will make you feel a smidge better about your house.

The dining room table is covered with boxes and surrounded with power tools!

Toys, craft supplies, more toys and a microwave clutter the living room and breakfast area. Ahem.

Ridley’s room has actually improved since this picture.  There is now room to play!!

This pile is in a corner of our bedroom.  The hubs’ ties have been strewn about by a very loving 2 year old…

…who makes 10 messes for every 1 I clean up…

But he’s totally worth every mess.

His laughs and giggles brighten our days around here!

Whew, that was embarrassing.  I need some chocolate or something.   I’m hoping to get everything put together and cleaned out in the next couple of weeks. I’m tired of living in a pigsty!

Now, I’m off to Emily’s to make myself feel better by looking at other people’s messes! Ha!

  1. This does help me feel better! We moved in about 3 weeks ago (well, started moving in…I had a baby 2 days after we started the process) Our house still looks like a wreck!
