Virtual Christmas Decorating {Before & After}

A couple of weeks ago when I shared my Christmas mantel decor, my sweet friend Shannon bemoaned her…and I quote, “sad” Christmas mantel. {giggle}  I told her that if she sent me a picture then I could give her some suggestions. How much fun it would be!

The Before

Shannon’s garland does look a tad lonely, doesn’t it?

I used my handy editing program and added garland, two more stockings, ribbon, bows, candlesticks, candles and ornaments.  Then I sent the next photo full of suggestions to Shannon.

The Suggestion

Shannon’s response was : “Wowsers”

Ha!

I coached and encouraged her over the next couple days as she found the different items that she wanted to use.  My goal was for her to use what she had and to find items that she liked. That is my goal when I work for all my clients. They live in their houses…not me.  So I want them to love, love, love what they have to look at 24/7.

Shannon did a great job, even though she had to leave off the bows because the ribbon attacked her.  So funny!  Check out her post to see that picture. She’s so cute!

{drumroll please}

The After

Another After…

Beautiful, isn’t it?  I love how the blue on the mantel brightens the blue ornaments on the tree.

Shannon already had several items on hand, so for this “upgrade” she only paid $32! Woot!  I love making things pretty without spending an arm and a leg. I like keeping my arms and legs attached. #thankyouverymuch

Ribbon and star decorations…pretty!

Gorgeous mercury glass candlesticks that I’m totally coveting!  LOVE them!
