New Kitchen Countertops!

/

I’m so excited because we decided that we really needed to go ahead and get new kitchen countertops.  The issue wasn’t so much the 70s gold color {although it was pretty awful}, but that the beadboard backsplash we wanted to install with caulking and trim would look best if the countertops were replaced now.  So we went for it!

I’m so thrilled that I don’t have to look at this anymore…

My sweet hubs removed the sink and countertops and my Dad hauled them to the cabinet shop to be used as a pattern for the new tops.

{this was a tight squeeze}

Ha!

We didn’t want to spend a fortune at this point on the countertops because eventually {within the next 5 years} we plan to renovate the entire kitchen with new cabinets, etc.  At that point I’m totally getting a dishwasher.  Somehow I will survive the” in between years” with no dishwasher.

Anyway, I decided on a Wilsonart laminate pattern called Milano Quartz.

For not spending a whole lot of cold hard cash, I love the new look.  Of course, once I get the cabinets painted it will be even better!

{here the countertops aren’t installed yet}

I’ve finally decided on the colors of the kitchen cabinets, I think.  Don’t hold me to it if I change, okay?

I can’t wait to get started painting the cabinets…they are going to look SO much better!

What is your favorite countertop pattern?

  1. I had that same counter top pattern in our old “new” house. I loved that pattern! We sold the new house and bought a 1930’s colonial where we have remodeled the kitchen already and always have a project or 3 going on! 🙂

  2. Wow!!! That’s awesome Myra!!! How amazing is God??? Right???? Wow I am so floored for you both!!!or you three!! THat is just too exciting!!! I love your choice in countertop and paint, its going to look Fab as always!! 😀 I just love your artistic styles, really and truly!! You’ve made me see a whole new light on color… I’ve always been a afraid of using color in the past even in my clothing, but now, I JUST LOVE IT!!! I am just so happy how God is answering your prayers, God is indeed a good God ALL the time! Praying for you both as you move for I know, very much how hard it is to move, having moved 6 times in my lifetime, its extremely hard, but Lord willing this could be your last move. Wouldn’t that be great to have one house to have all your memories in!! I’ve never been there before, having only one house to spend all my memories, but in the six times I did move, I had memories stashed all over the place, but anyway! I am just extremely happy for you and Ernie and cant wait to see what other exciting things God has in store for you!! Give God the glory, for great things He hath done!! 😀
