Freedom From Tyranny

I’m blessed to be an American.

I’m thankful for the heritage of those who gave their lives for freedom from tyranny.

Today, though we are still a blessed nation, we are on a slippery slope back into bondage…back into that disgusting tyranny.

As we celebrate our nation’s 234th birthday, let’s remember why we have the blessings we have.  Men fought and died for the freedoms we have. And men and women are giving their everythings to protect the freedoms that we still enjoy.

Most of all, we are blessed because God has blessed America.  He is showing us grace by giving us what we don’t deserve and mercy by not giving us what we do deserve.

Have you seen this video?  It is amazing and will give you chills!

Lyrics:

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

True spiritual freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ. He is the only One who can truly give us peace from the tyranny of sin.

I’m taking a very short blogging break. I’ll have a super fabulous post to share with you on Tuesday! 🙂  Stay tuned!

Happy Independence Day weekend!

  1. Awesome post and video! How true! We usually only hear the first verse. We need people who will stand for what our country was founded on. God definitely has been graceful and merciful to America.

  2. I may make people mad but sometimes I wish we lived in times of yesterday or even how other places of the world live. I really feel like America is so caught up in our freedom to do what we want and when we want that we never do what we should be doing – like slowing down and enjoying all that God has blessed us with. Forgetting the 60 hour work week and hitting the streets with the family and cleaning up the neighborhood. Spending time in other countries and seeing how simple life can be when you only need to worry about well nothing because they have given their entire being to God and food, water and shelter is there when needed.

While I really appreciate the fact that we don’t have to turn the lights out at night, there are no bombs or planes going over every 10 minutes, and we can lay by the pool all weekend if we want. I really really do.

On the other hand I’d love for people to be judged by the good they do and the love they selfishly pour out vs. what kind of car they drive or the symbols that follow their name.
