A Figure Of Reality

by Myra on February 24, 2010

Two nights ago, my husband found the anniversary gift that he forgot to give me earlier this month. I hadn’t even noticed that I didn’t “get” anything. I have everything that I could ever dream of…

…but, tears filled my eyes when I opened this…

Photobucket

Such a sweet, thoughtful gift!  How did he know that I’ve always admired Willow Tree figures? I never breathed that admiration to anyone.

I haven’t had a “collection” of anything since I collected key chains as a teenager (Ha!), but I feel a small collection in my future.

I’m loving this beautiful figure, that reminds me of how loved I am…by the most amazing man in my life.

What is your most memorable gift from someone you love?

I love the Willow Tree Collection as well! I have the pregnant woman that someone got me as a gift when I was first pregnant. Then, that same family got us the mom, dad, and baby one when she was born. I have the friendship angel from another friend when we moved. I am looking for a mom and 3 girls from Willow Creek. they are simple and beautiful. What a great hubby to get that for you!

My small Willow Tree collection began when I was pregnant with our twins. My mother in law gave me the pregnant woman one and we’ve added from there…I love them!

I love the Willow Tree collection. My husband on the otherhand thinks they’re sort of…freaky. I guess that’s the right word. He doens’t like the fact that they don’t have a face; even though I’ve attempted to explain why.
Besides that, my most memorable gift was from my Moma last year. After I had my miscarriage, she gave me a necklace to represent my Little Angel Baby. A simple butterfly charm set between the stones for the month that she was concieved, her orginal due date, and the month she was born. It’s definitely one of my most treasured pieces. I’m glad you wrote this post, I think I’ll wear that today to show Hope and Savannah. Thank you.

That is SO sweet!

And you are a wise woman to not get upset when you didn’t get a gift on the day of. I wasted way too many years being mad when my husband forgot special days when all along I could have been appreciating all the times he gave me gifts on ordinary days.

I’m not a fan of each of their figurines, but a few of them I really, really like. This is one of them!!

OOOOh you’re in for some beautiful additions! I absolutely adore them. I like that they’re faceless… because then they could be ANYONE! Their nativity set is one of my ALL TIME favorite pieces of ART! I love it so much, I don’t know why I don’t leave it out 365/24/7!

I love how men will go out and buy you something and then totally forget to give it to you! Sounds like my husband.
This Christmas he got us Disneyland Annual Passes. It’s my favorite gift because I get to spend time with my boys at Disneyland! Just yesterday I got to see Hartwell’s face as he rode splash mountain for the first time. I was more scared than he was!

My husband got me two Willow Tree figurines for Christmas one year; Father and Son and Quietly. The two together make a perfect portrait of our family. They are my favorites too. I LOVE them!

That is so sweet! I can’t think of any gift off the top of my head right now because my head is clogged thanks to this lovely head cold! :-) Once I think of something I’ll be sure to let you know!

Love it! What a sweet gift. My Aunt collects a few of those and gave me an angel ornament a few years ago and I always smile when I get to hang her on the tree!

Hi Myra, I am over from AL Bloggers.
My husband is always getting me the Godiva bear. I have one for every Christmas we have been together, a few from Valentines, and Easters. I look forward to them, because its just a little something in terms of cost, but it is a constant in our lives.

That’s precious! Isn’t it wonderful when husbands know exactly what to get us? My hubby is pretty good at this too, and it always warms my heart.

An “out of the blue” gift means more to me than something that I’m expecting. Gift giving has fallen slightly to the wayside between my husband and I. Once I began collecting beads for my Pandora bracelet, I knew what I would get for every holiday or personal event.

Your Willow Tree figure is beautiful!
