Ribbon Kissed Packages

by Myra on December 17, 2009

This time of year brings with it an event that holds a special place in my heart – gift wrapping! Yes, and it’s so special that all of the gifts remain unwrapped. Ha! Seriously, I love, love, love to wrap gifts. Maybe it’s the OCD part of me that loves straight lines, scissors and tape, or maybe it’s the other part of me that loves anything beautiful and extraordinary.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to make a gift or package beautiful here’s the how-to video! Trust me, it’s fast and easy!

This is my very first vlog–no laughing or snickering!

Okay, you can laugh now! I am.

And I’m off to wrap some beautiful packages!

Nicely done. I usually go for three loops on each side and it ends up looking too bunchy. Two loops look great. Tomorrow I plan to do some more wrapping!

So cute! Thanks for the tutorial. I've always loved wrapping gifts but I didn't know how to do a beautiful bow. I'm looking forward to trying!

That's great! I'm creative in other areas, but when it comes to wrapping I suffer from the "the kids are going to rip this all off anyway" syndrome. I need to do better…

I would be an utter failure at such a task, Myra. My bows would look deflated, I know it!

By the way, you do know you have an accent, right? ;)

Myra, you did a great job! I already knew how to make bows but I watched it anyway and enjoyed it. What it did was motivate me to get wrapping! I haven't wrapped one thing yet.

I have 11 grandkids and they can't unwrap them fast enough, so I was considering not even putting bows on their packages this year…but now you have made me re-think that idea. I think a beautiful package increases the excitement as they hold it, and look at it and wonder what is inside. Part of the gift IS the wrapping and all of the love that went into it!

Great tutorial, Myra! You are adorable. You did great, especialy for your first vlog!

I love fabric bows–they add that special something. I like getting mine from the Dollar Tree–it's cheap! Never thought to add something extra to the middle like that.

Stumbled ya!

thanks so much, Myra! I have never been able to get the hang of those bows, but the way you explained it made it much easier. I went out and bought a bunch of ribbon and went to town on my packages tonight!!!

My hubby's mom used to own a gift shop and guess who the wrapper was at Christmas? The hubby. He wraps amazing so I hand all duties to him :)

Great tutorial! So the truth is I thought I am gonna go ahead and watch this tutorial but I'm not actually gonna do it because I am not froo froo at all and people who get gifts from me know this about me. BUT then you mentioned the TEXTURE!!! B-I-N-G-O!!!! You got me. Jack's teacher and I have been talking about how to get my son Jack who is both fine motor and vision impaired into opening gifts. Gift unwrapping is a chore for him and he's not usually into it BUT he loves loves loves to feel things with different textures. I just may go out and spend extra money to buy holiday ribbon NOT on sale just so I can do this for my kiddo. Truly I have tears in my eyes with the thought that my kiddo's gifts can be texturally interesting and beautiful. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
