Lily Update

We definitely have a stubborn little lady on our hands! Nothing like her parents, of course! Ha! Lily has given us a “scare” twice in the last week. After 2 trips to the midwife (one of which we will never forget) and various natural ways of encouraging labor, oh and 3 nights spent at the midwife’s clinic, we are all home to enjoy Christmas.

Kelly is happy to patiently wait and enjoy the holidays as well as the last few days of being pregnant.

I’m so proud of my sister. It is such a joy to watch her go through this process. We are hoping that the 3rd time (to the clinic) will be the charm! Ha! I just have to tell ya’ll that the midwife is amazing! Seriously, she treated us just like family – she even cooked meals for us. She’s such a sweetheart and very relaxed about everything.

This morning when we were leaving, she said, “You know, there is a time to be born.”

How true.

So today and tomorrow especially we are celebrating Jesus’ time when he was born.

Now, I’m off to do some cooking!

Merry Christmas!

  1. I have been checking your blog and Kelly's blog every couple hours waiting for some news!

Glad she is okay and safe. My midwives were amazing. They treat you like your best friend.

I hope the next couple days are peaceful for her – even if the baby decides to come! A peaceful birth!

Love to you guys. So excited to hear the news!

  2. Know that feeling! Two years ago I was waiting for my Christmas baby to arrive. He was due on the 20th and finally made his appearance on the 27th! Those last few days can be miserable, but Christmas celebrations help keep your mind off of it–a little!

  3. You know, I thought of her this morning when I got up. I was folding some of my girls clothes getting ready to put them away when I just stopped. I wondered if Lily had arrived yet and decided to say a prayer for her and Kelly.
Please share my thoughts with her while she waits for her little girl.
    Have a blessed Christmas!!!!

  4. Merry Christmas to you guys — there is a time to be born, and with that in mind we begin our Christmas celebrations.

  5. I was 15 days late with my little boy. I did a three-day natural induction that worked! I took Blue Cohosh and Black Cohosh once an hour on day one, once every thirty minutes on day two, and I woke up with light contractions on day three. I continued both Cohoshes throughout day three every fifteen minutes and added two tablespoons of castor oil every 30 minutes for two hours. That really kicked off labor and I had my baby naturally the next morning!

Can't wait to hear that the baby is here! Merry Christmas!

  6. How wonderful that you are so included in Kelly's pregnancy and her upcoming delivery. I don't have a sister, but I know that I would truly LOVE to share a moment like that with another woman so close to your heart.

merry christmas. I will pray that Lily Grace decides to come soon, but with plenty of time to make the drive 😉
