How Does Your Salad Grow?

by Myra on November 30, 2009

I love making salads! But, you must know that it has not always been this way. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, it was my job to make a salad for dinner. Ugh.

I got SO tired of making salads, but Mom still made me do it because I did “such a good job.” I think it was all a ploy just so she didn’t have to cut up everything to add to the lettuce. I would have said the same thing if I was in her shoes. Ha!

So today, I still make salads to take to my parents’ house, to church dinners, to family get-togethers. I guess it’s just “my thing.”

Fruity Salad Toppings:

Strawberries
Red Onion
Blueberries
Feta Cheese
Mandarin Oranges or Pineapple
Craisins
Flax Seeds, Walnuts or Pecans
Dressing: Balsamic Vinaigrette

Everyday Salad Toppings:

Baby Carrots
Black Olives
Grape Tomatoes
Cheddar Cheese
Red Onion
Cucumbers
Craisins or Yellow Raisins
Dressing: Ranch or Thousand Island

A lettuce salad is an easy, healthy addition to any meal. It is light, but fills you up in a good way! Do you have a favorite salad or topping?
