Be Still…

by Myra on October 3, 2009

Be still, and know

that I am God:

I will be exalted among the heathen,

I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 46:10
In the last few days I have been thinking about “being still” in the middle of all kinds of busy-ness and stress. It is amazing to “be still”and at peace internally when all us around there are many demands, stresses and conflicts. Being a SAHM, I don’t have a ton of time to sit still, but even so I can “be still” in my heart.
I especially love the last half of this verse. God doesn’t say that He “might” be exalted among the heathen and in the earth. He says that He “will be”. What great certainty we have in this promise from Him. We can trust His Word, pray His Word and wait for His Name to be exalted above everything else in the world.

We have a thrilling future as the people of God.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

This is such an encouragement to me! Funny thing is I've been thinking on the same psalm this week…especially this verse. Life can get so busy when you have a baby in the house but it's wonderful to be still in your heart. Love you, Sis!!

This verse is always a good reminder for me. I need to be reminded to be still and listen for His voice, His desires. Too many times my conversations with God are one sided – me talking. Thanks for a much needed reminder.
