Jesus, Whom My Soul Relies On…

by Myra on September 5, 2009

I have always loved the hymn “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken.” Recently when we sang it at church, I noticed the ending phrases of each verse. Individually they are incredibly powerful and together an immense blessing.

…Grace which, like the Lord, the Giver,
Never fails from age to age.
…Jesus, whom their souls rely on,
Makes them kings and priests to God.
…Solid joys and lasting treasure
None but Zion’s children know.

I've never seen/thought about the verse endings like that. Very powerful!

I love old hymns. I am sometimes amazed at how the words can speak to me. Thanks for sharing.
